Our stay was great when we were able to get in our door. Each one of our key cards were inactive upon each and every attempt to get in our room. We were late to our destination two out of five of those times because we had to go back to the front desk to get new key cards. The other times it was super inconvenient as it cut into our vacation time and plans every time we had to go back to the front desk. I was extremely frustrated not being able to access our room we paid for. The 2nd time, although nice and friendly, the girls at the front desk kept telling me to keep my cards away from my cell phone or it will deactivate the magnet. Then they said the door gets stuck sometimes which we knew wasn’t the issue. Already knowing this, our door key cards were put in a back pack, no where near them every single time. Not even close to my phone yet they insisted that’s what was happening so I was very discouraged internally. After 13 key cards (they gave us extras each time) and yet another attempt to get in our door, we called security as advised and he re programmed not only the cards but the actual door keypads as well just to cover all potential issues. By the time we went to the office two of those evenings there was no longer a parking spot so with cold food by now in hand, we had to park way down in a different area and walk with full hands to our building. The other time, Juan drove us back in his golf cart(shuttle). We had no problems after things were reprogrammed but only had 1 day left at that point.. So in closing Andy, Juan and our last security guard,(not sure how to spell his name), we’re fabulous. The entire staff was helpful and nice.but without being able to access our own rooms, it was very stressful. My girls couldn’t change out of their uncomfortable cheer uniforms or grab jackets when needed. We are bummed that this was our experience so we won’t be back but if it was smooth, we would definitely keep Westgate in mind.
