Bass Lake Estates is a small, beautifully maintained community and is one of the closest to Orlandoā€™s main attractions. Relax in the peace and tranquility of this fabulous location where itā€™s hard to imagine you are only a short drive to the main gates of Disney. Hwy 192 is only two minutes away, offering a 24 hour Wal-Mart, shops and restaurants.

Home needs a lot of TLC.
Positives: Close to Disney properties. Close to Walmart and shopping. Negatives: Close to Walmart and a homeless group. My wife was afraid to walk the dog after dark. Every wall needed painting. Bathtub needed to be caulked. Vertical blinds were broken and missing had slats. Backyard had large weeds growing on the lanai screen and through the filthy fence. This is not a vacation home, it is a home that needs quite a bit of repair and cleaning.

Everything was easy with this rental. Good communication and check in was a breeze. We traveled with our dogs and the place was very dog friendly. Nice pool. Only negative I could share is there was only one garbage bag and one dishwasher tablet. Not a big deal. VERY convenient location.

Not so Pet friendly
I was looking for ā€œpet friendlyā€ vacation homes. Once we booked the rental we were contacted via email asking if we would have a pet with us. I responded that we would have our small dog with us. Just a few days before we were to arrive I had to call to get our check in info. When they called me back they asked again if we had a pet with us. I again told them we would have our dog. He then said that he would be charging the pet fee which was fine. Only then did I receive the notification that if pet hair was found on furniture or bedding they would be charging me an extra pet cleaning fee because some renters maybe allergic to pets. First of all if someone is allergic to animals maybe they shouldnā€™t book a pet friendly rental. Second, what is the original pet fee for if not to address the cleaning issues?

Nice October Getaway
The property was very clean and as advertised. They had everything needed for cooking. The books and games were a nice addition. The pool was nice but I wish we had paid to have it heated (our fault, not theirs). The bed was comfortable. This property is close to everything (parks, dinner shows, Walmart, and reasonably close to Cocoa Beach.)

Needs attention to detail
We chose this listing primarily because of the fenced-in yard for our small dog. We spent our first hour putting 3 adjacent panels of plastic fence together before we could let the dog loose. This was not a recent break as evidenced by the amount of dirt buildup in the bottom rail and the mold on missing panels located on the ground behind the fence. Multiple vines from scrub trees behind the fence drooped 7 to 8 feet touching the ground 3 to 4 feet into the yard . Grass was in need of cutting our entire two week stay. Pool screening was in disrepair and partially replaced during our stay. A hole was left in the screen door near the pool pump area to allow pool personnel to stick their hand through because the outside handle no longer worked. Dark green mold the size of dinner plates covered the bottom of two patio chairs. George saw to it that toilet and shower head concerns were taken care of promptly. I pointed out grape and heavily stained white dining room chairs. He commented that had been an accumulation of four years. There was a total of 5 kitchen forks to serve accommodations for 8 people. (I simply purchased 8 and left them) Microwave and hall lights were burnt out. Rolls of dust under master bed were evident of cleaning neglect over an extended period of time. With attention to detail both inside and out, PRIOR to vacationer occupancy, this property has definite potential for a higher rating

This property had very dirty and cheap broken furniture. There was holes in the box springs of twin bed and bugs. Couch was broken and leather pealing. King bed frame was broke and cheap mattress. No skillets we had to buy our own. We had to go buy ant spray it was so bad. The house was not clean at all.

This house was a great place for our family to stay. We had more than enough room and was clean. The pool was very nice to have as Well. Just a few fence panels broken so the dogs got out a couple times. Other then that our stay was Perfect! šŸ˜Š management was very good to deal with!

Good location. Needs updates.
Our stay in this home overall was okay. I can vouch for the location because it is close to everything. The home itself was very spacious and the pool was really nice. It was also pretty clean and had a pretty pleasant smell upon entering. The check-in process and information given was very easy to understand. There are a few cons. The beds we're really stiff. it would be very beneficial to at least put a topper on them or just replace them all together. There was mold in the bathrooms but they cannot be cleaned. They are inside the faucets and really need to be replaced. You can see them very well around the handles. There wasn't too many features or add-ons to the house like any games or anything fun offered during your stay inside the home. It's not necessarily a drawback but we've vacationed in Florida every year and we've stood in other homes that offered those amenities which are very nice to have. This is a pretty standard home to stay in during your stay. If you want location then you really cannot go wrong with this home.

If you are looking for a place to relax this is not it.
Im going to start on the positive and work my way to the horrible. (Unfortunately there are only a couple of positives) House is spacious great location and close to the shops. ( Walmart is around the corner) pool is also a nice add on. However, house needs to be cleaned properly, bathrooms have mold, food crumbs on drawers, spider webs on light fixtures, towels and sheets smell moldy (I had to rewash everything) dog hair and dust on floors baseboards look as they havenā€™t been touched in a while. House has a dog like smell due to not being clean properly after someone with a pet stays. Also mattresses are horrible they are hard and old. I was dreading to go back to the house to relax after a long day at the parks because of this. Pillows are paper thin luckily I brought one from home but everyone else was complaining. Dishes are old (pots and pans have the black toxic stuff pealing off) and they have no blender. I had to run to Walmart and buy a pan to be able to cook. AC is not the best and there are no fans in any of the rooms to help. I have rented houses for much lower in the nearby neighborhoods and the condition is way better than this house. With the current condition this house is right now is way overpriced. They need to charge more for cleaning so the cleaning crew gets compensated enough to be able to do a good job. I donā€™t blame them I blame poor management for not making sure things get done properly. if you are looking for a place to relax I donā€™t recommend this house. I washed everything except 2 twin beds to help the cleaning crew so they can focus on the cleaning issues I mentioned above.

A wonderful place to stay following a cruise
We have rented over 20 homes in the Kissimmee area over the past decade or so and this was one of the nicest. The neighborhood was convenient, quiet and peaceful and the home was everything we could ask for in a vacation rental.
