Welcome to this two-hundred-year-old traditional country house, which for many years has been in the hands of a local family. Their warmth and the passing of their family history, told with love from parents to children, is captured in their rooms.
Being only 300 metres from Órgiva, it is a pleasant walk of less than five minutes from town. The walk leads us to the automatically opening main gate, which when opened shows us luxuriant gardens. Ancient cypresses, orange trees and other fruit trees (grapefruit, persimmon, quince, plum, avocado, lemons and mandarins) stand majestically with Sierra Lújar as a backdrop. Ornamental plants, geraniums, rose bushes and hibiscus paint the gardens with colours. Two mill wheels, a water trough and the sound of the irrigation canal running along the side of the farm remind us of the agricultural character of the fertile Guadalfeo valley.
The pool will immediately catch your attention! It is delightfully located and invites you to a relaxing dip—the blue of the water contrasts pleasantly with the greenery and colours of the garden. At night it surprises with a show of colour since it is equipped with multi-colour LED lighting. A fountain with water lilies completes the scene to make your sunbathing doubly relaxing.
Beyond the pool is the delightful gazebo with a central table and chairs for seven people to enjoy outdoor lunches. It also has some armchairs where everyone can relax comfortably. An ornamental fountain surrounded by stone benches completes the relaxed atmosphere of this outdoor space that will undoubtedly be the main focus of your family vacation.
You access the interior through the main entrance and in the foyer you’ll find vestiges of past times. The floor proudly shows off its traditional tiles, the ceiling beams and the antique mirrored sideboard give us a hint of the classic essence of the house.
From the foyer we access the living room, not an overly large space, as is the Alpujarra tradition, but extremely cozy and agreeable. Here the traditional decor of the house is more evident—an antique sideboard displays local ceramics and brass utensils on the mantelpiece give old world character.
Through an arch in its wide walls is access to the kitchen. Although old traditional kitchen utensils are on display, the kitchen is more practical and adapted to current needs. It is equipped with the modern appliances that we usually have in our homes.
The owners invite you to taste the wines of their own harvest, a bottle of white wine and another of red await you upon arrival courtesy of the charming Angelina. For those who wish to repeat the experience, more bottles are available in the kitchen with a self-payment method (honesty box).
On this same floor is a complete bathroom with a shower, laid out in the same practical style.
The stairs lead you to the first floor, to a hall that gives access to the different rooms. The master bedroom with a double bed has a large window and typical wrought iron ‘rejas’.
Also on this floor is another double bedroom with two single beds, a complete bathroom in white with a shower, the laundry room and access to a sunny terrace. This terrace (which may also be accessed from the outside) is perfect for enjoying an aperitif, taking in the views of the garden and the swimming pool.
Returning to the interior of the house, you go up to the second floor where there are two more bedrooms: one single and the other double with two single beds. Also on this floor is a WC and a magnificent games room. The games room has a spectacular window that floods the room with light. It houses a very well stocked library, board games, fireplace, television with access to Netflix and a PlayStation PS4 Pro that will delight the little ones, and the not so young . . .
From here, more stairs lead to the sun terrace that offers impressive views of the Andalusian landscape that surrounds the house.
