I like the old masonry with the stairs going up to homes - I saw some similar ones in downtown Portland at the foot of the west hills and I just saw an old horse tether and even an old watering hole for horses up above Rex Putnam school.
We have visited many Oregon Trail sites and this is one of the best places to see Pioneer places.
If you’re on your way to Seattle, this is a great place to stay. Much more rustic than Portland. Beautiful surroundings and nice people. And really doesn’t add much time to your trip. We stay here when we go on cruises in Seattle. 3 hr drive
Staff was semi pleasant, let us check in early which we appreciated. Used the hot tub and restaraunt. Both very nice. Overall enjoyed our stay but didn’t get much sleep due to unruly next door neighbors and wall heater that was broken and clanking.
Very beautiful little city
