This studio is the perfect getaway for rest and relaxation. Enjoy time around the firepit, or reading in the homes large yard, with surrounded by thick woods. Throughout the yard, there are sculptures and other artwork that will spark your imagination. Inside, the studio has a rustic, woodsy vibe, with pops of artwork on the walls. The kitchenette is great for light cooking, and equipt with the tools you'll need.

What's nearby:
For hiking, Turtleback Mountain Preserve has a north and south trailhead that have beautiful views. A 20-minute drive away is Eastsound, and off of main street with many restaurants, and a grocery store. Starting the firstweek of May, Eastsound also has a farmers market with local foods, ciders, and goods.

Quiet, serene apartment
Private little efficiency apartment in a serene, lovely wooded area. Very close to the ferry entrance, and away from the hectic traffic, etc. of the town. The full sized bed was comfortable. Enough room for the two of us for two nights. Visited Mt. Constitution in Moran State Park which was amazing! Great hikes and beautiful views.

Adorable little ethical rental.
We loved this location and had an amazing time! We especially loved the hosts dog, a friendly boxer who is usually around to greet you during your comings and goings.

Property location was relaxing and quiet. It is a bit out of town but not far from the ferry terminal. Probably best to arrive before dark, as location might be tricky to find. The owner and his dog were inviting and friendly. FYI...there are some resident sugar ants.

Quiet place in the woods. The owner was very helpful with two personal requests, and the dog was fun to have as a visitor to the little cabin. Food prep was a bit tricky with the rusty and dull knives and some of the pots and pans looked unsafe to cook with. We made it work by eating out more. We really enjoyed the solitude and quiet nights.

It was fine until the water pump failed. We still have not received a discount on our trip! There were no other accommodations in all of Orcas, dog friendly, except one for $510 and another for $1,180/ night. Therefore, we had to stay and bring in our own water to drink and wash. Not very happy with how we are being treated. Thank you Sallie & Paul

Don’t do it- keep scrolling
First of all this place is so far out with no reception what so ever. Community (yes community) is completely closed in with a gate, of course parking is outside gate. The attached studio had such a strong moldy smell that my husband was in there for 3 minutes and started coughing and sneezing. I’m thinking they have had a major leak issue for some time. We didn’t even unpack and left the property ASAP. Thinking we will sleep in the car somewhere if we have to. Now maybe this is someone’s ideal vacation rental but it wasn’t ours. Completely creeped out from the first hello.

We had a great stay at the artist studio! The resident dog Mick was very sweet and the location was super safe, quiet and remote. Only downside was the lack of kitchen amenities. There wasn’t any oil or any staples other than salt or pepper. The knife that they had was really blunt and it was difficult to use. The bed is pretty uncomfortable and sags in the center when you lay in it. My husband and I both woke up with back pain after sleeping there! On the positive side, the window was left open all day before we checked in and there weren’t any bugs. There was a dehumidifier and a small fan that made the atmosphere a lot more comfortable for sleeping.

Just Not Quite
First, when I walked in immediately hit with the smell of mildew and mold. Looking up there is clearly a leaking skylight that someone mitigated with some plywood and a blanket but clear signs of water intrusion. There is a dehumidifier on top of the fridge and mildew on some of the window panes. The door also has mold spots growing on it. This is a common problem in the PNW. I had an apartment with this problem and I had a dehumidifier running on high all the time to address it. It is a fact of life for some of us but shouldn't be for a place that you pay to stay at. It's not good for your health to breathe that stuff. Don't check in in the dark. The place was a little confusing. The carport is outside the gate and you walk through the gate to the studio. In the daylight that would have made perfect sense but in the black of night I was looking for a place to park on the other side of the gate. Maybe not a problem for everyone but was just a little tricky for me. No map of the property in the binder and no check out instructions. The ad does not say that the owner is on-site nor does it say the owner has a dog. I did not see the owner or the dog on this trip. They were home briefly at one point but I never saw them. My dog does not do well with other dogs so not knowing about the presence of the owner or the dog prior to booking was unnecessarily stressful. It sounds like other people who have stayed got to know this friendly dog, and I am sure he is great. But you have to include that kind of info on the listing. Lastly, it was a little frustrating that the kitchenette was so poorly stocked. There wasn't a small jug of vegetable oil. One of the cutting boards was broken. The knife was laughably dull. It was also odd that all of the cooking implements were plastic and most had signs of damage. So some high temp cooking utensils or wood ones would have been great. There is a toaster oven but there was no foil or anything to line the tray. I went for it and was happy nothing oozed out. But if it had that would have sucked. This place is a new skylight, mold remediation, and a single trip to target away from being amazing. Really that was the worst part. It was just so close. I could see what it could be. It just isnt. Aside from that I love the location near Killebrew Lake. It was a beautiful place. I suspect it is a better summer destination. One thing that was really cool was that even with the door open for two hours to air the place out only one moth came in. Not very buggy which was a pleasant surprise. I would definitely consider staying here again in the suisn't. I am assuming the skylight issue is a newer problem that will be straightened out relatively soon.
