This was my 24th consecutive year and my 26th visit and obviously there is something about the place that we love. The Divi Aruba AI is comfortable provides various areas for relaxation, dining, snacking, drinking (both water/bar drinks), multiple dining options, activities, but what I love the best are the veteran staff members; they are family and it is always wonderful to see each of them again and most of the newer staff are friendly and this year we love the new WWII monument. What is disappointing though is how tired and haggard the facility is looking: unkempt and dying hedges, trash among the greenery, uneven and hazardous walking surfaces, some rooms rundown and old with rotting doors, newly renovated rooms with unfinished or shoddy work (outlet/switch plate covers falling off every time a switch is touched or something is plugged in, barn-style doors that do not stay open and squeak each time the door is moved, portable dehumidifier fills and is not emptied by staff [husband emptied the unit twice], magnifying mirror you have to be 6 feet tall to use it, not enough towels on a daily basis, tile or laminate on shower wall lifting away from sub support), increasing prices with decreasing quality (in this year's visit there is a definite difference in service the newer staff's attention to the customers, ie. on their phones while customers wait to order at the bar/restaurants, waiting for bartenders to return to their stations because of the lack of barbacks.
