Aloha Suite: Watch Whales, Breakfast included at Ala Kai Bed and Breakfast

9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (15)
"Thanks to Erich and Suzy for making our short stay as cozy as possible and helping us figure out plans. Between plane delays and terribly rainy weather, our volcano visit was mostly a washout. But the rooms were very cute, the nice big bathroom was helpful to have with all 4 of us, and the breakfast was delish. Thanks again!"

Volcano Eco Retreat by Heart Core Hotels - Adults Only

3.5 star property
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (15)
"This resort is no longer open, however we were not notified by E prior to arriving onsite after booking well in advance. Luckily the staff were very nice and explained the situation, but we had to make last minute accommodations to stay elsewhere which was not fun after a long day of traveling. Lesson learned: either book directly or confirm bookings outside of Expedia since their notification system is not reliable."

Oceanfront Cottage in Scenic 'Old Hawaii' - the Original Rainbow Dreams Cottage

9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (143)
"My wife and 20 yo daughter stayed here with me for 4 nights. I’m actually in mourning right now as I write this from Maui because we miss everything about the little cottage. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that this place facilitated my most successful down regulation ever. We cooked most meals in the cottage’s kitchen and spent hours on the deck watching the surf and waving at the occasional passerby on the old highway. This place feels ocean front even though there’s a small and very...
