We enjoyed a weekend away with our teen and young adult children. The home had a lot going for it: great location on the lake, pool table, kayaks and canoes, and a reasonable price for a large family. However, the “fully equipped kitchenette” consisted of a microwave, mini fridge, a griddle and a small electric skillet. We had planned to cook all of our meals and a skillet. We had planned to cook all of our meals and assumed we’d at least have a few burners and some pots and pans. There were no cooking utensils provided and even though the description stated that it slept 10, there were not enough dishes for us all. Knowing this beforehand would not have kept us from renting the home, but it sure would have helped us with planning. The internet also didn’t work for several hours the evening we arrived and there were no life jackets for the canoes and kayaks. When we contacted Vacasa about the situation, they told us that they would contact us in the morning and we never heard from them (until they reminded us to be sure to leave a review)! If I was the homeowner I think I’d use a different rental company! Minor issues were that drawers were dirty, sheets were stained (but obviously clean), and we were given one roll of toilet paper for nine of us for a three night stay. Be ready to have to drive into Olympia for the things they don’t provide! We’d stay again because the house did have a lot going for it but now we know what we would need to bring with us.
