"Perfectly pleasant place which is well located near the station, It is handy for the tram to take you to the train musuem or the Car museum. We had the breakfast, which was was perfectly adequate buffet. "The hotel was a great value - we had a very large, clean room and were only a few minutes away from the center of the city and several excellent restaurants. The hotel itself served a good buffet breakfast (for 20 CHF) and within a 5-minute walk we found three very good restaurants. The best of the 3 was Restaurant Fiorentina, where we had wonderful truffle and mushroom-filled ravioli and risotto with shrimp. The Turkish restaurant Pinar served lamb kabobs that were the best lamb we had ever had - close to a good filet mignon. The Lebanese restaurant Za Zaa had a broad range of vegetarian dishes, including the appetizer sampler that we shared for lunch. The hotel staff are multi-lingual, friendly, and helpful. This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Basel and/or overnighting before a Viking river cruise on the Rhine."
