North Central Florida Oasis – Unplug, Recharge & Reconnect – Nature, Suwannee River & Wildlife – Be Present
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay.
Welcome to your home base for all things awesome while staying in beautiful rural North Central Florida! If you are looking for a comfortable (2/2) home for your family while slightly disconnecting from the day-to-day hustle and bustle, you have found your oasis!
A yard for the kiddos to play safely in, spaciousness to throw a frisbee or football around, a campfire pit in the backyard, a comfy couch for all to gather for DVD movie time and a full kitchen to enjoy a family meal. Of course, a microwave to warm up those leftovers and a bag of popcorn!
Or maybe you want to have a nice solo trip or a couple’s romantic getaway? Perfect! Spotty cell service to keep from being lured away into countless hours of scrolling. Relax on the front porch, watch the birds, listen for the owls and sometimes catch sight of deer! Singing Cicadas outside will be heard on most evenings; this is free of charge (LoL) and part of the country livin’ charm at its finest. Get a taste of peace and privacy.
This is the ideal location for writers, artists and anyone looking for their creative muse and inspiration.
Those who enjoy fishing, hunting, scalloping, birding or playing on the river, look no further! Located approximately a mile from the famous Historic Suwannee River, there are multiple boat ramps, docks and parks within five to ten minutes from the house, not to mention a couple of hunting areas around the county and neighboring counties. Scalloping is very popular along the Gulf of Mexico beach areas (this is NOT the beach you’ll see in places like Destin, just a heads up). Our county in Florida boasts the tagline “Heart of Every Nature Coast,” and “Florida’s Hidden Coast,” and websites claim that the fishing and scalloping experienced cannot be matched; a playground for both freshwater and saltwater enthusiasts alike. *Scalloping season is only from late July through September (check FWC’s information for regulations each year).*
Internet search “boat ramps Old Town, Florida” for a list of around 15 options in the local area, to include the town of Suwannee, Jena and Horseshoe.
For more water activities, you must add our natural freshwater springs to your itinerary! Fanning Springs State Park is only 10 minutes (7 miles) away! Otter Springs, Hart Springs and Manatee Springs are all within a half an hour drive. The self-proclaimed Springs Capital of the World, Gilchrist County is just over the bridge, about twenty minutes away. There, and in the surrounding areas, you can find many, many freshwater springs (and their spring runs/rivers) that provide fun opportunities for diving, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and tubing. Lazy days galore!
Hiking trails are prevalent at most of the parks in the area so bring your hiking boots if you’re looking for some exercise, nature and seeking wildlife!

Fiber WiFi (supposed to be 100 Mbps) was installed in mid-2024, which is part of a large "internet to rural areas" initiative. We're very excited to be able to provide this but do keep in mind that it is a rural area and runs through the electric lines. If there is no power, there is no internet.
Ring doorbell camera installed.
*If you are staying for 30 days or more, we will be conducting a light cleaning and refresh every 15 days.*
Also, if staying 30 days or more, electricity will be charged for anything over 200 KWH usage, which is the base usage when the home is empty and not your responsibility. The due amount will be requested through the rental app the following month after usage.*
