"For what I was looking for, the motel was fine. The problem was the Hotels.com website had misinformation posted about this motel. The website stated it was pet friendly only to find out it was NOT per friendly. Initially the motel warned it would apply a $300 fine for anyone who brought a pet against its policy. I found this out after I booked the room and then tried to preregister on my phone. I took the cancellation insurance policy, but when I called them about cancelling, they wanted me to...

"The staff was very helpful and accommodating during our stay. It's 10 minutes from downtown which was convenient for us to visit family. The rooms are as expected in a motel but the beds are comfortable for a no frills stay. It really is the best option for Old Saybrook for reasonable price. It is right off I-95 but the double paned windows they put in keep the highway noise low. I couldn't hear it at night. I highly recommend the Liberty Inn."

"We loved staying in the historic pharmacy. We stayed in the Ann Petry room and it is well appointed, clean and charming. The property sits on the town's main street and is very walkable to shopping and dining. We look forward to our next stay. "
