"This property is the worst we have ever stayed in. It was filthy, the dishes in the kitchen were cracked and dirty. The stairs to the bedrooms are a ladder and my Mum couldn’t get up and down them. The boiler didn’t work properly and actually broke on the last day leaving us no hot water. There was a smashed window in my daughters bedroom which I told the owner about and he didn’t even respond. This place is not fit to be rented."

Listing on VRBO advised that towels were provided, none in the gite, not even a tea towel for drying up. "The location of the house is pretty perfect. From there you can start with a lot of hikes and/or trips with a car to all the beautiful sites off Cote Opal. You also have a very good view from the house, as well over the sea as to the fields and Cap Gris-Nez. The house also has everything that contributes to a comfortable stay."
