"We have just enjoyed 4 nights in the apartment (more like a one floor cottage) with the most spectacular views. The owners were very helpful and the property was spotlessly clean and set in beautiful gardens. We ate on the balcony and enjoyed the vista. Everything was exactly as you would wish for with modern design and lovely beams. I can highly recommend this apartment and the surrounding area was stunning. We wish we had booked for a week. "We share the positive reviews of many aspects of this property. It's very spacious (although the swing of some doors cause odd pinch points). We were only three, and would have used only the ground floor but for an issue (see later). The kitchen is well equipped, the induction stovetop was great to cook on. The location is properly noted, but Marie's L'épicerie in the village was closed for August vacation. (Which I imagine is an annual event.) That meant we needed to drive 6+ km for morning...

La commune de Bernau est magnifique, le depart de balades et nombreuses randonnées. De nombreux lacs (schluchsee, titisee) et cascades à proximité. Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir la fête de Hans Thoma durant notre sejour, fête traditionnelle de la forêt noire. "

"Good sized room with comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Just a few minutes walk to the old city center, which was perfect to view the Christmas decorations and Christmas markets. We didn’t swim, but the pool would be a great plus in summer. Staff was efficient, although not overly friendly. Decor in room was nothing special, but overall, the hotel was good value for the money."

"The property was fit for purpose. We used it just to have a place to sleep and visit Freiburg and surroundings. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The room was very small for 2 people and their luggage (2 had fairly sizeable suitcases, since we were spending 3 weeks in Europe)."
