Welcome to our home.
Hello! My name is Felipe Crispín. We are delighted to share our accommodation in Ausangate with visitors from around the world. We live just a couple of hours from the hustle and bustle of Cusco in the peaceful and beautiful pastoral community/cultivator Pacchanta. We have been taking visitors like you for over 20 years to experience our stunning mountains and offer accommodations and hikes. We're just a two-hour walk from Ausangate's seven lagoons.
The space
Our rooms in a country community are generally simple and functional, but welcoming, designed to provide rest in a rustic setting. The space is usually fundamentally furnished, with a wooden bed, equipped with thick blankets and covers to protect yourself from the cold. The walls are made of local materials such as adobe or brick, and the windows offer views of the natural environment, such as fields or mountains.
Bedroom Description:
Bed: A single or double bed with firm mattress, wool blankets and sometimes extra duvets for cold weather and we also have heating apparatus for the cold
Furniture: Includes a simple nightstand, a chair, and for storing belongings.
Decoration: The decor is minimal, often with handcrafted details such as woven blankets or rustic handmade paintings by the community.
Lighting: We have electric power can charge cell phones, all electronic devices.
Additional Spaces:
Bathroom: Bathroom is outside the room with cold water, and on-demand hot water.
Dining: We have an area where meals are served, prepared with fresh produce from the region, in a family atmosphere and conviviality.
Common areas: We have spaces such as a communal living room or an outdoor patio with simple seating and outdoor resting areas.

2. Bathrooms can use when you need it.
3. Dining Room:
In the dining space where meals are served, usually prepared with local and fresh ingredients. In our country accommodation, it is common for traditional meals to be shared as part of the cultural experience.
4. Kitchen:
Meals are prepared by the hosts dinner, breakfast and if you need lunch in case.
5. Common areas:
In the courtyards where guests can relax, read, chat or engage in social activities. In these areas there are chairs and also walks around lodging visiting the animals like alpacas, sheep, cows within the community.
6. Gardens and outdoor areas:
Our accommodations have greenhouse gardens, patios, or green areas where guests can stroll, enjoy nature, or just relax outdoors. These areas are surrounded by natural landscapes such as mountains, countryside.
7. Recreational or activity areas:
We organize activities such as hiking, horseback riding, local craft workshops, or demonstrations of agricultural techniques. These activities are outdoors or cultural experiences.
8. Thermal waters:
Guests can use hot spring pools or relaxation areas, in Pacchanta we are a 15 minute drive (we have taxi service) from Pacchanta hot springs.

Main Trekking Routes in Ausangate:

This is the most well-known and complete route around the mountain. This is a multi-day circuit, usually between 4-6 days, where you tour the entire Ausangate massif, crossing mountain passes over 5,000 meters high. It is a demanding route, but it offers spectacular views of glaciers, turquoise lagoons and stunning rock formations.
Vinicunca (Seven Colors Mountain):
You can start the hike from Casa Cóndor Ausangate. This hike, also known as "Rainbow Mountain", has become extremely popular in recent years. Although it can be done from Ausangate hike 3-4 days camping, it is high altitude (approximately 5,200 meters) and can be exhausting for those who are not acclimated. The trail offers panoramic views of natural colors on the mountain due to the minerals on the ground.
Sibinacocha Lagoon Trekking:
This is a more remote trekking, where you can see spectacular lagoons and high mountain landscapes. The Sibinacocha lagoon is one of the largest in Peru, and this hike allows you to discover areas less frequented by tourists, overlooking pristine landscapes. This walk is done in 6 to 8 days camping.
Hike to the Thermal Waters of Pacchanta:
Pacchanta is a nearby town that is usually included in the Ausangate trekking itinerary. It also offers thermal waters, it is a starting point for shorter hikes to the surrounding mountains or as an end of route behind the classic circuit.
Important things:
Altitude and climate: All walks in the Ausangate area are high mountain, with elevations exceeding 4,000 meters and steps that reach 5,200 meters. Acclimation is crucial to avoid altitude sickness.
Recommended season: The best time for trekking in Ausangate is from March to December, when conditions are drier. During the rainy season (January to February) the terrain can become slippery and dangerous.

The Trek to the Siete Lagunas de Ausangate is a day tour that allows you to enjoy the beauty of the mountainous landscape around the Ausangate snowy, highlighting by the impressive number of glacial lagoons of vibrant colors. It is an ideal option for those who are looking for an immersive experience in nature without doing the full multi-day trek around the mountain.
Hike details:
Duration: Approximately 5 to 7 hours, depending on the rhythm of the group.
Difficulty: Moderate, due to altitude (4,300 to 4,800 meters above sea level) and uneven terrain, although the hike is not excessively technical.
Maximum altitude: 4,800 meters.
Start and end: The tour usually starts in the small town of Pacchanta, also known for its hot springs, which is an excellent option to relax at the end of the hike.
Suggestions:
Acclimation: Since it takes place at high altitude, it is essential to acclimatize in Cusco (3,400 meters) for at least two days before the hike, to avoid altitude sickness.
Equipment: Wear appropriate clothing for the cold, sunscreen, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
Local guide: It is advisable to take the tour with a guide who can help you with guidance and safety in case of sudden weather changes.
