Modern Beach House on the Sand

This property has just been recently remodeled with new floors & new windows. Million Dollar Beachfront Condo with it's very own beach! Perfect for families or couples wanting to get away. Several wedding ceremonies have taken place on our beach as well. With all necessary amenities, you will find it easy to get comfortable in your home away from home. The home has high speed WiFi, a well stocked full kitchen, a living room and dining area. There are two bedrooms and two baths as well as a convertible sofa in the front room.
This townhome is located on the upper level. The beach, Adirondack chairs and fire pit are shared with the lower level townhome. You can reach the beach by walking down 2 flights of stairs within the building or walk around the garage on sloped Street next to the property.

This vacation rental is a home away from home. Each room has character and everything is professionally decorated. You will find everything you need for your vacation in the home, from beach towels to linens, from Keurig to garlic presses. We have stocked the kitchen keeping in mind you might be cooking a Thanksgiving feast, or just a homemade smoothie. Just imagine all of the memories that will be made on your vacation on the beach! It is not far from the famous San Diego attractions. It is very comfortable with easy parking, close grocery store, several good restaurants nearby.

Beautiful deep beach, perfect location. Don't put our shoes on for the entire week. From the great room window you can see your kids playing in the sand. It is a wonderful place for a perfect family vacation.

The location of this rental is second to none. There is plenty to do for everyone in the family and with the freeway so close, road trips are easy too. Being right on the ocean with a private beach is just about as good as it gets, especially when you can include your pets! Close to stores and shops. Beach area is clean and not too busy!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, surfers retreat, girls getaway, guys getaway.

We absolutely loved staying in this property. The views were stunning and we loved having the windows open and hearing the waves all night. The property could use some updating as others have mentioned but you cannot beat this location for the price. We would love to come stay here again with our family.

Nothing what we expected. The front screen door was so rusty I didn’t want to touch the door to get the key out of the lockbox. The living room TV was tied up to the was shelf with a strap, the back screen door almost fell off every time we opened it and cheep bedding ,worst house on the block ..but on a positive note the view was incredible and the beach was great at low tied

Stayed at this property for a week with my family. The location is wonderful! Oceanfront and a short walk to the downtown area. The property manager was really easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location!
We stayed here when my husband raced in the ironman. We loved sitting by the windows and relaxing in the amazing chairs when we weren't outside running around after husbands in the race. This was a fantastic, convenient place to stay. Super easy check-in and everything organized to a T. We enjoyed the huge king sized bed in the first bedroom. We would definitely stay here again.

I loved it! First night a dolphin swam in front of the property! Bioluminescent waves every night! We enjoyed a fire next to the crashing waves. Loved going to sleep with the crashing of waves. Perfect location for adventuring the coast. Will definitely come back!

Overall very nice accommodation, the view is spectacular! Getting into the water is challenging at times. A tip to those staying Would be to check the tide charts so you can plan to get in around lower tides.

Incredible views and convenient location
We stayed for a week and had a variety of weather. The views were fantastic the entire time. We saw a pod of dolphins, sea lions, pelicans and several other birds. Sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. Appreciate the owner allows dogs. The balcony was safe for ours to lounge on and watch all the action. Location was convenient to all the great restaurants and bars in Oceanside. We hope to be back!

Great Ocean Family Vacation
This beach house is in an excellent location, right on the beach. The accommodations were great with nice beds, fully stocked kitchen, and nice family room with TV-Cable / DVD / WII. My kids had a great time going from the beach house to the beach and loved using the boogie boards & surf boards that came with the rental. We really enjoyed having nightly outdoor fires where we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. It was a great place to relax and close enough for us to visit Old Town-San Diego, Birch-Scipps Aquarium, Lajolla and Belmont Park. This location even nicely accommodated our toddler. I can't wait until we can come back for another vacation.

Location, location, location!
The property itself could use some more upgrades. (Kitchen and bathrooms are dated. The bedding in both bedrooms was worn and dated). But, aside from that I couldn’t imagine a better location. As soon as you step through the from door you are greeted with an overwhelmingly beautiful unobstructed view of the ocean at your back door. Cheryl was great with communication. We would absolutely recommend and hope to return!

Beautiful view
This property has a beautiful view. Sleeping and waking to the sound of the ocean was so restful. Based on the photos, I thought there would be a sandy beach area leading into the ocean directly in front of the this property. However, even at the lowest tide there were only rocks. So we ended up driving to a beach with better access for the kids. Maybe it was the time of year? End of June. But, our goal was for the kids to have access to the ocean at the property. So that was disappointing.

The view is so great, that everything else is fine
We might have been the first folks to use the house this spring. So there were a few kinks being worked out. The lack of hot water and heat the first day were not great. Also the TV in the master is not connected to Hulu so local cannels could not be watched there. We also had to buy batteries for the remotes in the bedroom to get them to work. But all pales in comparison to Location, Location, Location. That and the chairs. Thank you Richard Sielman

Nice locations on the beach.
We had a great stay at this beach house. The place is literally on the beach. The water comes all the way up to the rocks so sometimes it's a little difficult to walk the beach. Plenty of stuff to do in the area. Access to the house and parking are easy. Most of the accessories were not really usable. The boogie boards were all broken, fins were missing, fishing poles with no tackle, wet suits had no zippers etc... This didn't make or break the trip by any means but just a heads up to bring what you need and don't depend on the list of stuff. The kitchen was really well stocked. Everything you could need is there. We stayed in the upstairs part. Just to be clear this is a duplex with an upstairs and downstairs unit. The listing seems like you are renting the entire house. We were clear on this because we read the reviews before going but the listing is a little unclear.

For the price, totally not worth it
The location is beautiful, but the actual condo is a dump. It needs some serious TLC and the owners have neglected it severely... so much that the balcony looks like it is sagging and about to fall off the side of the bldg. The stairs that you take from unit A to get down to ground level have a broken step, which for this pregnant lady was very hard to traverse. They just painted a big X on it, but it really needs to be repaired urgently. There's an upstairs and a downstairs unit, and the upstairs unit does not have direct access to the beach like we were expecting. It has a small balcony that fits 2 people, and its sketchy. Plus, the door is so weather-rotted that it's falling apart and hard to close. All this, plus the late checkin hour and early checkout time they have setup made this weekend an expensive bummer. I would not stay here again.

Mis-Represented
This was my first time using VRBO and I relied heavily on other reviews. I'm shocked to see the reviews were so great after staying here. First, it's not a house it's a condo. There is a unit below this unit and you end up having to share chairs and the fire pit, etc. For us this became very uncomfortable and definitely not relaxing since the unit below invited a bunch of people to the fire pit. There is no air conditioning, which all but 2 days was okay. But it's so humid that everything is sticky and also smells like wet dog. The carpet and furniture were filthy. Everything in the house (grill, lounge chairs, etc) were sub-par.We had to buy things for the house like garbage bags, etc. The deck is very small so you can't really sit and relax. The "private" beach was not so private and it does not go all the way to the water so having pets creates a challenge. Overall, we contemplated leaving early because it was not relaxing and it was so dirty.

Adequate lodging but needs TLC
The owner is more impressed with this place than he should be. He stated several times that it is a "1.5 million dollar house." Zillow puts the value closer to 500k and based on our assessment, we agree. We were expecting an upgraded home with amenities commonly found in 1 mil+ homes. The only thing modern about this home is the high speed Wi-Fi. In that, we were not disappointed. Our family of 2 + 3 kids had trouble getting comfortable in the home. The living room area has seating for exactly five. The noise of the waves and trains mentioned in other reviews didn’t bother us but the unit gets uncomfortably hot from the afternoon sun. The noise and heat could be significantly reduced my replacing all the windows. The current ones are old, single pane windows that do not open and close properly. One is even labeled, “DO NOT OPEN” We would have liked to have opened that one because the breeze was blowing parallel to the beach so it did not blow into the condo through the balcony door. When they replace the windows, double pane, low E glass would really help the noise and heat. Until then, working sun shades would be a welcome addition. When I spoke to the owner he acknowledged that he knew that the home was in need of some upgrading. He mentioned that they were thinking of replacing the old style TVs with flat screens. That would be a welcome upgrade because the DVD player and the wii game console share the same input which requires the renter to unplug and plug in the devices to use them. I would recommend new paint and carpet. Both are old and show considerable signs of wear and tear. The garage is exactly as big as the photo which is to say small. If you pull in while staying to the right, you can get out the driver door but you can't open both sides of the car inside the garage unless you have a small car. Our Nissan Altima was too big. You can park outside the garage, in the driveway however so there is off street parking for 2 cars which is nice. Bottom line: This is an acceptable place on the beach. It is not luxurious, or fancy or as comfortable as we expected. The best thing about this rental is, the view and the fact that it is ON the beach.
