My husband and I went to Microtel in Ocala for our wedding anniversary. I paid for what I thought was their best room-the Deluxe Suite. The lobby wasn’t even clean and the carpets were terribly stained. The man at the front desk was not friendly at all. He gave us a room right around the corner from his desk. I walked in first and instantly started sneezing, which is not normal for me. The room smelt musty, damp, and just plain moldy. The carpet was damp and stained worst than their lobby ones. The couch had huge stains on it and every cloth chair was stained. There was mold all around the tub. The bathroom door would barely close from the floor being warped from the moisture. We didn’t even stay 1 hour because my allergies were going crazy. I will NEVER stay in a Microtel now. I’m not one who to ever speak my mind/concerns but this was not right.

When we arrived after booking on Expedia, the owner was in a fight when another customer about the extra over charges on his bill. It got heated. They then went into the office to clear it up. Unknown outcome. Furthermore, as we are checking in. Of course our reservation was nonrefundable so they had us. then the owners wife says to me you have to pay another fee a booking fee to us of $15. I said we don’t wanna pay that fee why should we pay that fee when we booked through Expedia? Their answer was that at all the hotels are now charging these fees to which I said that’s not true. I just stayed at a different hotel booked through Expedia and they did not charge me that fee. And I don’t wanna pay that. And that we are going to dispute the bill. Plus they made use give more money as an incidental charges $50. I can tell you all we won’t be staying at any of this brand motels again.

Where to start, our room had been under water before as the floor boards were warped and lifting. Our window leaked during a hurricane and water came into the room, had to use an ice bucket to catch the rain water. They had hastily painted it and left areas where furniture had been. Bathroom was dirty, towels had stains.

I had a reservation and a hurricane came thru that actually declared us as a state of emergency with mass destruction and flooding and they would not refund my stay when I wasn’t going to be traveling. Trouble in the pool after midnight. Very noisy. I don’t know how the property allow people drinking in the pool after midnight. Police arrived to control the situation.

Upon checkout the page refreshed and a new date was on my receipt. I did not change the date nor want it changed. Reached out to the hotel and was told I had to pay an extra $100 to change the date back to the original date. Called the front desk and I was told to deal with it. There's nothing they can do. So I was not able to stay in my room but was still charged for it.
