Olga was very gracious and helpful during the two weeks we stayed in Mexico. The rooms were clean and we appreciated having a nice kitchen in which to prepare some meals and especially being able to make coffee and tea in the mornings.
When we chose this apartment, we didn't realize it had no air conditioning, and we really missed this on the warmer nights. There were screens on the windows, so we kept them open most of the time and there were ceiling fans in both bedrooms. Some kind of fan in the living room/kitchen area would have been helpful as well.
There was a nice market nearby, a laundry, and a nice, but small, cafe we went to for breakfast and sandwiches a couple of times. Although the Zocolo and center of Oaxaca is about a 20 minute walk away, this area has steep hills and is a challenge for anyone who is not in good physical health. Fortunately, it's easy to get a taxi and the fare is extremely affordable, so you can save your energy for visiting the many museums, restaurants, and shopping venues.
Very few people speak English, so knowing some Spanish is a good thing, and of course, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit to this beautiful city and would not hesitate to return.
