BE AWARE. The hotel staff robbed our room and stole about 2000 US dollars cash and our US passports. We found out as we were about to check out and travel to another state.
We called the police who were expectedly useless! A security camera had a recorded all movements during our stay. We had to plead with the staff to look at the recording which showed that only the cleaning staff entered the room in our absence.
The hotel manager was not on the premises declined to speak with us and come to deal with the crime situation. He only showed up when the police came and refused to even acknowledge the problem or even speak to us. We were about to lose our flights and our hotel reservations in the next city had we stayed to pursue any resolution with the hotel. Worst part of this is is that this property felt very secure with a gated security door that is monitored 24/7. Instead, we were robbed by the staff we trusted with our safety and the safety of our belongings. The manager of the hotel should have investigated and found the thief on his team. Instead he refused to even show his face at the hotel. We asked to speak with the hotel owners but the staff refused to provide the contact info. Owners will hopefully read this and take corrective measures to ensure no other guest are violated and no more crimes committed. At a minimum they should refund cost of our stay. The staff, except for the manager and the thief, were super kind and just wonderful, especially Mitzi.
