"Same experience as the above reviews. If it wasn’t that our son was in Edinburgh fringe we would never have endured the smell and dirt, there was no alternative available. After complaining we did appreciate getting a partial refund from the host. The money that was not returned was VRBO’s portion and I plan to argue for that too. "We had a wonderful stay here! Ruairidh has created a beautiful property that is very well appointed. There is a large table which gave my wife and I plenty of space to work. The heating boiler stopped working four times in two days. The owner helped us, but the apartment got cold quickly and it was cold inside. "Just returned from an 8 night stay at this amazing cottage. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a little taste of Scotland and a quiet beautiful retreat from everyday life! The cottage kitchen was lovely as well as having plenty of living space...the bedrooms were also great and comfortable for all the members of our party. The owner was very pleasant and greeting us our first day and awoke very early on our departure day to say goodbye!! I would definitely stay there again!!"

"The room & facilities were great. The location was perfect- great view next to the castle & 3 min walk to Grassmarket. The breakfast was a bit of a let down - £16.95 for a full breakfast & half of the items were missing - had to ask for them to be topped up & then had to wait almost 10 mins for them to arrive. Most of the other items were cold & our friend even asked for hers to be heated up in the microwave. Was not worth the £16.95"
