Central Crocker Highlands Garden Oasis

Kick back and relax in this newly built, calm and centrally located additional dwelling unit with private entrance . This Crocker Highlands in-law quarters is ideally close to Grand Lake shops, Lakeshore, excellent restaurants, movie theaters, farmer markets, and much more. Excellent food within an easy walking distance; Bardo (Michelin recommended), Shakewell, Almond and Oak, Sister, Mama, Grand Lake Kitchen, and Comal Next Door, Lin Jia, Rico Rico.

Big lively Farmers Market on Saturday, across from the beautiful Grand Lake Theater, or simply enjoy a walk around Lake Merritt. Major freeways and public transportation are only a few blocks away. Recently built, fully furnished home with a separate address and separate private entrance. You will love the gorgeous shared backyard. 750 square feet; two spacious bedrooms; one bathroom; fully equipped kitchen; shared laundry (shared only the main house). The property is in the second floor down from street level; one flight of stairs.

Fully private home with shared laundry. The patio areas, small bistro set at the front door and larger area downstairs, are private for guest use. Occasionally the landscapers manage the raised bed gardens and gather fruit from the trees.

I am not available in person but we have people who are only 10 minutes away in an emergency. Messages here on Airbnb are monitored 24/7.

Main property was built in 1922, the apartment was built in 2018. The entry is on the left side of the building, a large wooden gate beside “683” on the building. They walk down one flight of stairs, carefully closing and latching the gate behind you.
Parties/Noise: Per Airbnb regulations and local ordinances, and in order to respect the neighbors and our quiet neighborhood, parties are strictly prohibited, and we kindly ask that things are kept on the quieter side after 10:00 pm.

Number of Guests: There will be a fee of $25 for each guest over 4 unless discussed with us, even if the person does not stay the night. This is to prevent parties.

Cleaning/Checkout: Checkout is no later than 11:00 am. Unfortunately, we can not offer late checkouts; any checkouts that occur after 11:00am will incur a penalty fee of $100/hour. Please let us know the time you plan to check out so we can pass this information on to the housekeepers. We do a thorough cleaning between guests and we kindly ask that before leaving, you place dishes in the dishwasher and start it, and take out the trash. Please leave the home generally as you found it.

Restrooms: Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilet, including wet wipes and flushable wet wipes.

Smoking: Our house is a non-smoking home, please only smoke in the backyard. No smoking of cigarettes or weed inside the house or there will be a $300 charge.

Candles: We do not allow candles in the home as it is a fire hazard.

Damage: We understand that accidents happen. We ask that you please let us know when something is broken so that we can replace or repair it. There is a stain remover under the sink in the kitchen for the carpet and bedding.

Lost Items: Please do not forget anything in the home. We can not package and ship things that are left behind.

Noise: Please respect the neighbors by keeping sound down after 10:00 pm. Please be mindful as you move about the home that there might be someone trying to sleep next door.

Parking: Street parking only. This street is not patrolled so there are no restrictions but please do not block any driveways.

Utilities: We kindly ask that you switch off lights and turn off heater when not in the home.

Please do not unplug anything in the home. It is difficult for the next guest if lamps are unplugged, and there are items in the home that operate the door lock and doorbell. If you don’t know what it is, do not unplug it. Do not unplug the wireless router or modem or it will shut down the door lock and you may get locked out.

The neighbors have asthma and the little patio in front of the door should not be used used to smoke. It is actually the neighbors' property & they open their windows above that area. The bigger downstairs patio and yard are great places to smoke.

It’s not actually pet friendly on the property, and it was a weird stay.
We checked into the property late because of flight cancellations. We had out mr two dogs . The owners of the house live up top and the apartment we rented was a basement unit. There is no air conditioning. The dogs were not allowed to go into the yard at all. The property manager was texting me at 6 am because the owner complained my son was standing in the yard watching his phone while he waited on a food order and our late luggage to be delivered from the airport , he was reported as having “weird behavior “ for standing in the front yard. We were accused of smoking inside because we smoked downstairs on the porch . We actually originally asked to hold the reservation a full month but changed our mind and checked out after a few days . It was not comfortable, it felt like we had to walk on eggshells to be there .
