The Neighborhood:
This is stately "old Oakland." Neighborhood was designed in the 1920's by the Olmsted Brothers whose father designed Central Park and Golden Gate Park. Each house on the street is unique... story-book cottages, Tudor, Mediterranean and Spanish style homes. Beautiful, mature trees line the winding street. Illuminated at night by original street lamps. Trestle Glen was named for the trestle bridge that once carried the trolley line to this neighborhood which was a popular weekend recreational area then.
Getting Around:
Three-minute drive to Lakeshore shopping area with many shops and restaurants. Walking distance to some of the best restaurants in Oakland. The Historic Grand Lake Theater, one of the majestic theaters from the Golden Age of Hollywood where on some nights the Wurlitzer is played before the previews. One of our favorites is Belanico, they have their own chef who changes the menu every few months to keep it fresh and unique.
