Welcome to A Shore Thing, beach house! The location is fantastic on This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom beach cottage. Sit on the front deck and watch the sunrise and sunset and relax! DOG FRIENDLY!! I provide toilet paper, paper towels, linens, laundry detergent and dish detergent! I want my home to feel like your home away from home and build memories just as I have with my family.

Great find!
The house was exactly as it is pictured and it was easy to communicate with regarding check in. The location is perfect and the road was not very busy and the beach access was very close. We would love to stay again!

Memorial Day weekend
Had a wonderful Memorial weekend with my husband and friends. The house had everything we needed and more! We loved finding this house walking distance to the beach as well as being dog friendly! We will definitely consider this house for our next Oak Island Vacation.

Walking distance to beach!
We really enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and nicely decorated. Getting to the beach was easy, just a short walk. Communication with the owner was also very easy. The sunsets at Oak Island were some of the best I've ever seen!

Beach Weekend!
We needed a relaxing get away beach weekend, we found the cottage and it looked perfect. Everything was perfect and as described in the listing. The house is about a block from the beach, it was perfect. The check in and out process was smooth, and the owner responded to questions quickly (I am the type of person who asks one question at a time)! It was a great weekend just what the doctor ordered

Perfect to walk to beach only 2 short blocks
Love the place and Naomi was great to work with. Only issue and not a big deal, remodeling on the house next to us so there was building materials and contractor trash on that side of the house. But in all honesty, had no impact to our stay. Location for us was perfect.

Nice Get Away
Enjoyed sipping coffee on the front deck each morning. Street is quite busy due to exploding popularity of OKI & the construction. Easy 5 minute (or less) walk to beach. Very comfortable beach house with everything you need.

Perfect!
This is a newly updated, beautiful home. It is light, airy, and very clean. The beds were comfortable, it had everything we needed in the kitchen, and you couldn’t beat the sounds and sight of the ocean just a block away. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Really enjoyed our trip. The house was just as expected, newly updated with just a few small things that may still be needed but overall a great place for a nice beach getaway. Property owner was very responsive, and accommodating. I can’t say enough about how wonderful she was to work with and how quickly she responded to us when needed. Great experience and would rent again.

Great location in OKI
We had a week in OKI and enjoyed the convenient location of this property and that we could bring along our Doodle. Loved sitting on the porch and feeling the ocean breeze! Naomi was very responsive and everything was as expected. Would def recommend to other pet owning families.

Wonderful Place to Stay
We had the best week at “A Shore Thing”. The house was clean and just as advertised. All of the amenities were very much appreciated. The towels and sheets were clean, soft, and fresh. We had everything we had verything we needed for our vacation. And with just a short walk to the beach, it was easy to come back to the house as needed without interrupting our time on the beach. So glad we were able to rent this house for our vacation. Thank you so much!!

Like staying at a friends house !
What a beautiful and tastefully decorated home. Plenty of towels,soap- dishwashing, dishwasher, hand and even laundry soap! Paper products were supplied also. Along with clean linens. Truly felt like staying at a friends home! Communication was more than amazing , in fact there was a glitch with reservation because of MY error and the owner was so very kind and patient. I’d recommend staying here 100%. We had everything we needed and more!! Such an easy walk to the beach and we hung out on the perfect sized covered porch in the AM and evenings. Don’t hesitate if you are looking for a great home,great location and great hostess- this is it!

sweet beach house!
Had a fabulous stay at A Shore Thing- much of my time was spent working on the covered deck with very comfortable seating and ceiling fans. Went on the beach before and/or after work each day - truly less than 2 min walk. Great part of the beach and very close to Middleton Dr and beach pantry(both walkable). Never once used either indoor shower as we like outdoor showers when at the beach. Bring your bikes as it’s flat and easy riding. Nicely stocked kitchen. Owner very easy to communicate with. Will come back for sure!

A weekend to check out the area
The house was clean except for under the couch and cocktail table .. the king bed in master needs to be replaced. The queen was very comfortable and new. Location was awesome . For the price paid a longer stay as in check in and check out would have been more convenient . Very high cleaning fee seemed not competitive for area or worth the price. Unable to respond to host or ask for provisions through vrbo . All in all a nice place and loved the area

Absolutely Amazing
This property is nothing short of amazing and even better than the listing. A very modernly updated and cute house exactly a minute or two walk to a fantastic beach. Close to all of the restaurants and activities of Oak Island as well as a short drive to the picturesque beauty of Southport. The owner is very friendly and communicative. In fact it felt like she was an old friend offering up her place to stay. She made sure we were taken care of and had plenty of supplies already set for us. My only concern is that the more people discover this the harder it will be to book again. I’m already looking for future dates to come back.

Great Location
We had a nice stay, the house is a 3 minute walk to the beach. The house was nice. The floors needed to be mopped better my 1 year old was getting dirty crawling but not the worst problem! It would be nice to have a grill but the patio was great for relaxing. The owner was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We would stay here again!
