The ice age landscape in Odsherred is unique - and crucial for today's Odsherred, which is now a geopark. Take a walk along the Gravhøj route and experience the Ice Age landscape, Stone Age dolmens and Bronze Age burial mounds. Other highlights of the area include the Hempel Glass Museum and the Odsherred Museum with a copy of the sun chariot found at Trundholm Mose, Lommestenen. Odsherred is one of Denmark's most beautiful vacation areas and is known for its beautiful, varied nature. In Højby, near the cottage, there is an 18-hole golf course. In the area you will also find many galleries, artisans and the 13th century Dragsholm Castle, which is said to be haunted by a white ghost. The town of Nykøbing Sjælland is about 5 km from the vacation home and offers plenty of shopping opportunities with several supermarkets and a cozy pedestrian zone with specialty stores and cafes. Here you will also find the large amusement park Sommerland Sjælland with, among other things, Zealand's largest water park and a variety of other activities for the whole family. The vacation pearl Rørvig with the ferry to Hundested (50 km to Copenhagen) has an idyllic town center with old fishermen's houses and a cozy harbor with smokehouse, where you can also go on a seal safari from the harbor
