"Good to stay"

"Not the first time I had stayed in "Piilo Pirtti", meaning "Hidden Cottage" in the Finnish Language. The cottage makes you feel like being in a warm cozy home where everting is clean and in its place. From the warm fireplace if the evening turns a bit chilly'; to watching kangaroos (yes they are wild) resting, feeding or the younger adult males jousting; to the many different birds which fly in looking for a nut or seed. A place where you can relax after catching your "trout" - fly fishing or trolling (mine was a brown on fly); or a day spent in the nearby ski slopes, and returning to your collective reminiscing on how your day was in the afterglow of the dying embers in the fireplace, and your favorite drink shared with family and friends. My second time will not be the last - the third time is already in the making. My family included my wife (from the Philippines); my sister (from Canberra) and my brother (from Salamander Bay, NSW). These are not just words for ad copy. They started in the mid-1960s my first visit to Anglers Reach when there was nothing more than a dirt track, many rabbits; a few kangaroos where I have stayed in a number of cottages over the years. But, for me there is only one "Piilo Pirtti" that draws me back for the charm, ambience, like my Grandmother's warm hug, the cottage draws me back for more. My wife and I stayed from 24/11 to 3/12/ 2024 and extended that by another 2 days - I was happy to share my birthday with family and the Hidden Cottage."
