Situated on the North Norfolk coast and just a short stroll from the amazing sandy beach at Bacton. The village of Bacton offers lovely walks, two pubs with restaurants, fish and chip shop, Chinese restaurant, café and an ice cream parlour. Bacton Woods is a perfect place to enjoy a picnic and great dog walking trails, and the village is also very dog friendly. Dogs are permitted on the beach, restricted in certain areas during the busy summer months. The traditional seaside resorts of Cromer, 13 miles away, and Sheringham, 17 miles, provide great days out for all the family. Wroxham, 13 miles away, is known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads and boasts riverside restaurants, cafés and shops.
The waterways are rich in bird life and wildlife, and daily river trips and boat hire is available. BeWILDerwood at Horning is an outdoor adventure park, the perfect place for children to burn off some energy. Other firm favourites are the Dinosaur Park and The Bug Parc both in Lenwade and offering both outside and inside fun. Avid gardeners will enjoy The Old Vicarage Gardens at East Runton and Sheringham National Trust Park. Other National Trust properties nearby include Felbrigg and Blickling Hall, ideal for lovers of history. The Royal Cromer and Mundesley golf courses will not disappoint good golfers and visitors to the area can enjoy the chance to spot hundreds of grey seals and pups along the shore at Horsey beach, between December and February. The city of Norwich is 21 miles away and offers two excellent indoor shopping malls, market square, theatre, cinema complexes, castle museum, cathedral, cafés, restaurants and pub. Beach 70 yards.
