"We stayed in late Oct 2024. Cabin is older, but very clean. Was a bit chilly in the main room in the evenings (temps in low to mid 40ā€™s); the heaters seemed to have some trouble keeping up. There is a wood burning fireplace in the main room which would have helped, Iā€™m sure, but we were just there in the evenings and didnā€™t go to the trouble to build a fire. There is an electric fireplace in the bedroom, so it stayed adequately warm at night. The views were beautiful of the sunrises on Lake...

"Gorgeous setting in the woods! Wonderful craftsmanship! You have to spend time looking around the cabin to appreciate everything it has to offer. It was extremely clean and so very comfortable! Full of amenities, stocked with kitchen and bathroom items, games, and toys. Comfy beds. Plenty warm in the middle of winter. Short drive anywhere on the peninsula. A ton of care was put into building it, take care when staying here and keep it beautiful!"

"We really enjoyed our time at Starkhaus! It is an easy walk or very short drive into Sister Bay, where you can enjoy the beach, marina, restaurants, and shops. It is also an easy drive to Newport State Park, Ellison Bay, Bailey's Harbor, etc. In short, we were able to kayak, hike, see the Cana Island Lighthouse, visit the Ridges Sanctuary, etc. within only a 15-20 minute drive. The only comment we have in the updated shower area, the shower head is so high up the average person isnā€™t even able to reach the shower hose to shower and if left on the holder the shower is spraying all over. We are able to work with it but wished it was a lower to reach. šŸ˜Š"

Only problem for us was that our room was next the elevator mechanical room and there were some clunking noises intermittently during the night.
