Experience amazing relaxation in the Cayman Islands during your stay at this charming waterfront cottage and relish the Caribbean vacation of your dreams. Barefoot Kai overlooks the water and has a large dock, allowing you the opportunity to rent a boat or Wave runner during your stay. This location is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of George Town and Seven Mile Beach and offers enchanting vistas, soothing tropical breezes and numerous amenities.

Barefoot Kai II is a beautiful villa with charming, comfortable and colorful Caribbean furnishings. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, each with private balconies and en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, and the guest bedroom has two twin beds, so the villa comfortably sleeps 4 guests. The ground floor is an open plan and includes a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, separate utility room with full size washer / dryer, as well as a spacious screened lanai facing the sea with additional seating and outside dining. A large private swimming pool, offering beautiful views across the water, is located off the outdoor living room area, and has plenty of sun loungers for everyone to relax by the pool and soak up the sun!

Other amenities included with this villa are high speed Wi-Fi connection, two kayaks (one double and one single), a flat screen Smart TV, plenty of beach towels, along with a gas grill for outdoor BBQ’s. AC is located in the upstairs bedrooms only. There are ceiling fans throughout the home and additional stand up fans for your convenience and comfort.

Access to amazing natural surroundings is close by at Bioluminescent Bay, a short 5 minute walk. This enchanting natural wonder comes alive at night with sparkling aquatic life that can be enjoyed whilst kayaking, or you can go with one of the local tour companies/guides in order to get a narrated and informative tour.

The surrounding area offers a wide variety of activities, with the Rum Point Beach Club and restaurant, located within a short 10 minute walking distance, that offers a spectacular white sandy beach, incredible snorkeling, shady hammocks, two restaurants, a beach bar, gift shop and Red Sail Sports for all your water sport activities and excursions. The world famous Stingray City, the Sand Bar, Starfish Point, the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Crystal Caves and the Kaibo Beach Bar and Restaurant are all located within a short drive or boat ride from the villa. Hop on to the ferry at Rum Point or at the Kaibo Restaurant to travel across the North Sound to Camana Bay, which offers an array of shops, restaurants, a 10 theatre cinema, an observation tower and much, much more. There is also easy access to Seven Mile Beach and numerous restaurants, bars and activities within walking distance of Camana Bay.

If you are looking to enjoy a family vacation of complete tranquility and wonderful memories, Barefoot Kai is the ideal place for you to relax and unwind. No shoes required, but we highly recommend renting a vehicle for your stay, as the property is a 45 minute drive from the airport, George Town and the west side of the island.

Fun times!
Nice, quiet neighborhood. House was a little dated but nothing to complain about otherwise. Very clean when we arrived. The downstairs gets extremely hot but I cooled off in the pool pretty often. Overall it was a very nice stay

Anniversary trip
We greatly enjoyed staying at Barefoot Kai II for our 15th anniversary. The property could use a little TLC, but that did not dampen our stay. We had a few issues with the water heater and old pipes, but the property manager, Sissy, was responsive and even was at the house at 9pm to help address a burst pipe.

The property is in a very quiet area on Cayman and the location on the bay is beautiful. The private dock and kayaks are a great amenity. We loved having our own private pool. It is very secluded and we had no one staying in the property next to us, so was very private. the screened in porch was wonderful for outside dining without having to worry about the bugs. The house is very well appointed and welcoming. The bedrooms are air conditioned and were comfortable and large. We had a local contact, Sissy, that was very responsive and helpful.

Cool spot on a beautiful island
My wife and I had a great stay at Barefoot Kai. We enjoyed the quiet location of the house and being right on the water was awesome. We used the kayaks and paddled to Starfish Point a few times. The pool was really nice and liked that Kaibo beach restaurant was so close by. We would definitely stay here again!

We love the beach Little house!! The screen in porch was great for sleeping with all windows open. We were bummed the pool was heat but learned it didn’t need to be. Hope to return!!

Quiet, sunny getaway
We loved our stay at Barefoot Kai. The property sits right on the water and is surrounded by palm trees. There was always a breeze and some shade which made the 80 degree temps comfortable. There is only AC on the bedroom level, but we didn't miss it on the first floor because it is all screened in and there was a breeze every day. We were looking to be in a private spot and that is exactly what we got. Even though this property is on the North Side, we were a walk away from two nice restaurants and a coffee shop. There is swimming here at several smaller spots. For the true Cayman beach, we drove an hour to Seven Mile Beach, and we visited there for some amazing swimming and more dining.

We loved the quiet, secluded location with access to a dock where we were able to kayak from the house and able to walk to restaurants, swimming, snorkeling, etc. The open air porch with sliding doors on each level was so wonderful...made for great reading and napping. The pool was so refreshing and we loved the changing flowers of the gorgeous tree out front with all sorts of wildlife. We were also so amazed at how friendly everyone is in the area. To say we had a wonderful time would be an understatement.

The property is as described in the listing. Lovely home on the water. It is not an ocean view, you are in a bay. Lots of grass in the water, great for kayaking but not for swimming. Home does not have air conditioning on the lower level as stated. It was very hot and quite uncomfortable indoors during the daytime. I would recommend staying here during the cooler season if there is one. Location is 45-50 minutes from Georgetown and 25 from east side. Very few restaurants nearby. Rum Point continues to be under construction. Kaibo is very close and lovely.

Peaceful Property in Grand Cayman
We had a lovely time at Barefoot Kai. The house is adorable, the rooms comfortable, and the private pool was our favorite part. The temperatures were consistently in the high 80s during our stay, so our daily evening/night swim after a full day of activities felt amazing. We appreciated the abundance of beach towels and lawn chairs (and the hammock!). The neighborhood is quiet, with beautiful houses with terrific names, close to a couple of beaches. The proximity to Starfish Point was convenient - just a 10-12 minute walk. The one major downside was that the property was a lot farther away from anywhere else, so if you don't have a car (which we didn't) it can get very expensive to get around (by cabs which you have to call for, though thankfully the house has a list of numbers) or you may have to wait a long time for a bus, since most buses don't necessarily come that far out on a regular basis. Overall, though, we had a wonderful time and would recommend Barefoot Kai to a small group or family looking for a peaceful place to stay away from the bustle of the city areas.

Quiet, relaxing, home on the Kai
Nice place to hang out in the pool, enjoy meals in the breezy, fully-screened, patio, kayak all around the Kai. The water is shallow and full of beautiful, intriguing, sea life. During our stay in August, some of us encountered some sort of stings, perhaps from jellyfish. So, we spent most of our snorkeling time on the ocean side. Started from the Cayman Cai public beach, swam out to the coral, and enjoyed a gentle drift to Rum Point. (Which is closed for reconstruction right now.) The sit-on-top kayaks are easy to paddle to explore the area. (Be sure to ask about the availability of life vests/PFDs if you prefer to use them when kayaking.) Enjoyed a pleasant visit to the Stingray Sandbar from Ocean Frontiers at the Kaibo Yacht Club, a short walk from Barefoot Kai. Would love to return and make use of Barefoot Kaics dock, perhaps with a Hobo Cat sailboat. (Empty Suitcases used to rent a Hobo Wave and deliver it to rental properties, but no longer.) We prepared most of our meals in the well-appointed, clean, and functional kitchen. And ventured out for a few dinners at Over The Edge, and the Check Inn Grill.

Reviewer Comments: This cute beach rental is right on the water with a dock in the back making it very easy to rent a boat or any other water sports equipment. The décor of the house is truly so beautiful and beachy. We loved it from the minute we arrived. The house is clean and very well maintained thanks to Sissy. There are 2 kayaks provided at the house which we did use on a regular basis. The house also has a great pool and deck area where we spent a lot of time relaxing with the West Indian whistling ducks that came by everyday. What makes it so nice is that you have sun out back all day. Located in the heart of Cayman Kai you can walk to Kaibo beach bar as well as water cay beach. You are also a 5 minute drive from starfish point and rum point. Lots of restaurants and attractions near by as well. Overall we had a wonderful stay. I highly recommend Barefoot Kai as well as any other properties Cayman Villas has to offer as we have been using there services for years and have never been disappointed with any of our rentals.

Our wonderful Cayman experience
The location is amazing, and you can never tire of the views with awesome sunrises. The tropical winds generally make sitting outside relatively comfortable. Whilst the waters are beautiful they are not suitable for swimming with the sea grasses and jellyfish. The kayaks were a great addition to the house, but really needs 3 paddles to cater for the double and single. The house was immaculate when we arrived and had everything we needed with a lot of storage, towels and kitchen equipment. Whilst we knew there was no AC downstairs it was far too hot to utilise the area, even with doors open. Fans in the covered outside area would be a great addition as this also gets very hot, although with the double height ceiling would likely be ineffective. . A couple of good food options close by, and is great for early access to Starfish point before the masses arrive. Also useful for an early departure to Stingray city for the same reason from Kaibo beach which is 2 mins away. It is a fair drive to Georgetown, again we were aware of this, but we absolutely loved the quietness and wouldn't hesitate to stay on this side of the island again. One of our best holidays ever and I am sure we will be back!

We love the nice breeze that we get from this North side property, and we always have our breakfast, lunch and dinner in the screened-in porch. We cooked on the charcoal BBQ several times because we love grilled foods. It's a short walk to Water Cay Public beach and Kaibo Yacht Club. Star Fish Point and Rum Point are not that far away either. The property was clean, and the Cayman Villas Team and Sissy the property manager were very helpful. They accommodated our request. So, if you're like us who loves a place away from the crowd with a pretty fast internet connection then this is the place!

Our favorite part of the house was the screened in area, where we spent all of our time when not outside. The pool was incredible and we spent many evenings sitting on the dock. The bedrooms were spacious with a ton of closet and drawer space and en-suite bathrooms in each. The Cayman Kai neighborhood is beautiful and charming. Chisholm Grocery is only a 9 minute drive and Kaibo Yacht Club and Over the Edge are must visits in the area.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the third time we’ve rented at Barefoot Kai II. It is one of a few original homes in Cayman Kai. We like the large screen porch, the dock and that there are currently two empty parcels of land on each side of the house, so we have some privacy too. The two bedrooms are upstairs and the living room and kitchen are downstairs. The downstairs is not air conditioned, but the house is situated such that it is open to the prevailing winds most days of the year. If you go in the summer, the humidity may make it feel uncomfortable certain days. The home is well stocked with everything you need and it comes with two kayaks for exploring. The property manager, Sislyn, is very nice and attentive to all our needs. We will definitely be spending a family vacation there again.

Perfect in every way
This is a beautifully furnished home. Exactly as described. Kitchen is fully equipped. If you want to use the grill, you need to purchase charcoal. We loved the pool and the kayaks. It is located a short walk (<10 min) to Kaibo where we had cocktails and dinner upstairs. Kaibo is also where we took off from for an early morning trip to swim with the Stingrays (on Ocean Frontiers). There was great snorkeling nearby at Rum point (stay to the right as you face the dock). Absolutely a wonderful home in a quiet part of the island.
