About this property

Group Camping Compound

Willow Springs is all about hosting GROUPS, large and small. We cater to family reunions, group gatherings of all kinds, workshops, seminars, church groups, corporate retreats and housing for businesses that need temporary accommodations for their work crew.
Nestled in the foothills of the Tahoe National Forest, our Retreat Center offers a variety of accommodations to suit your needs, from 10 to 60. We are six minutes to several locations on the Yuba River and twenty minutes to Bullard’s Bar. Located just 15 short miles from the historic communities of Nevada City and Grass Valley, Willow Springs is a place to escape and re-connect with what is important, creating memories. We also incorporate principles of sustainability at Willow Springs, with an on-site educational herb and permaculture garden for which a self-tour is available (free) and a guided tour upon request. Fresh produce possible depending upon season and availability.
We operate ala carte with our accommodations so we can customize your experience to meet your needs. You can choose one or more of the following:
GROUP CAMPGROUND: (Maximum Occupancy 30 People)
Our campground, just a short walk from our Lodge and retreat facilities, can be rented by itself or in addition to these amenities. (SEE BELOW.) The one-acre fenced in area allows for guests to bring their dogs and pitch tents in a protected area with an expansive view. Camp cooking has never been easier, as the community kitchen is well equipped with 2 full-sized refrigerators, gas stove/oven, pots and pans, dishware, silverware, triple sink, and two outdoor barbeques. The cooks will especially appreciate our unique outdoor “dishwashing station” for each individual (even kids!) to efficiently wash their own dishes instead of using throw-away plastic for each meal. Our bathhouse has two private toilets, two private showers with hot water and a double sink. Bring your own towels and toiletries.
More information is available at www.WillowSpringsLodge.com/blogs.
ADDITIONAL LODGING IN CAMPGROUND AREA:
YURT: (Maximum Occupancy 4 People)
A 20’ yurt equipped with a full bed and queen sofa is an additional rental available for members of your camping group that would like a bed, sofa, and table and chairs. Limited electricity is available for lighting, cell phone charging, cpap machines, etc. Use of the Yurt also includes use of the Community Kitchen/Bath House. See below for even more options.
BUNK HOUSE: (Maximum Occupancy 6 People)
Our new bunk house has 3 twin bunkbeds to sleep six people. A covered deck area provides shade in the summer and escape from those occasional days of rain. Limited electricity is available for lighting, cell phone charging, cpap machines, etc. Use of the bunk house also includes use of the Community Kitchen/Bath House. See below for even more options.
RV SITES:
We have numerous RV sites available with water only, water and sewer only, and full hookups including electricity. We have a minimum charge for van parking where no services are offered except use of the Community Kitchen/Bath House.
OTHER AMENITIES
LODGE: (Maximum Occupancy 20 People)
The newly renovated Willow Springs Lodge was designed for comfort for large gatherings with a spacious living room/dining room/wet bar area and a well-equipped chef’s kitchen to feed your group efficiently. Soak in the 6-person spa, spoil yourself with our wood-burning sauna or just enjoy our private patio with its relaxing triple waterfall feature. Thirteen beds in all ranging from private queen suits to twin beds tucked away on the second floor.
More information is available at www.WillowSpringsLodge.com/blogs.
FAMILY ANNEX: (Maximum Occupancy 12 People)
This is an add-on to the Lodge if your party needs more beds for groups that exceed 20 people. This cozy living room-style building is located directly adjacent to the Lodge and offers one private room, a unique elevated “crow’s nest” loft, two queen/twin bunk beds and a sleeper sofa. Bathroom facilities are a private toilet, a private shower and sink.
More information is available at www.WillowSpringsLodge.com/blogs.
RETREAT FACILITIES:
In addition to lodging, Willow Springs offers retreat facilities for group events that can be added to your lodging reservation. Located just down the hill, through the permaculture garden, you will have additional amenities available to your camping experience.
YOGA STUDIO:
Our 1200 square foot yoga studio is ideal for movement classes or meeting area for workshops and seminars. Equipped with a small kitchen for snacks and food service, the yoga studio is directly adjacent to the Lodge with ample parking out front.
PAVILION AND EVENT TERRACE:
The pavilion is a covered structure open on three sides to heighten your experience of enjoyment of the outdoors. This 1700 square foot building is a great spot for group events with tables and chairs for 40 available upon request. The Event Terrace is located directly behind the pavilion and serves as a ceremonial or celebration space for weddings, intimate gatherings or other group activities.
THE MEDIA CENTER & OUTDOOR BEVERAGE BAR:
Located between the Lodge and the Pavilion, the Media Center is available for your audio and video recording needs or for other group activities, as needed. The outdoor, lighted deck serves as a great place for a band to perform while people are stepping up to the bar for a beverage of their choice. A welcoming fire pit is located in the grassed area adjacent to these two structures, adding the serenity of an evening fire under the stars.

A magical retreat in the heart of the Gold Country
Our family stayed at the campsite for a weekend where we had gone rafting and wanted to spend more time enjoying the local rivers. The hosts were fantastic, treating us more like family showing up to visit than guests at a campground. They helped us get settled and were available with tips and recommendations for the area. The property is expertly set up for groups of all types, from campers and glampers to a full wedding party in the main retreat center. The gardens were amazing! We spent a long time touring them and marveling at the beautifully tended crops and fruit trees. Our timing was good (August) to be able to sample stone fruits that were bursting on the branches of all the trees at once. We look forward to visiting again with groups of friends!
