To start, the house was breathtakingly beautiful and clean. However, the house is for sale and the renting of this property seemed like an afterthought. From the time we booked, traveling to participate in a Baseball Tournament, we struggled to get check-in and check-out information. We finally got a code on the day of arrival and let the host know we would be arriving after midnight (a 10-hour drive). We got the code to work, only to be greeted with a screeching alarm. After texting and sending notes through the app it was turned off. During our stay, we had trouble finding the WiFi code, logging into the living area TV (since there is no cable TV), and figuring out how to run the very high-end washing/drying machine. These could have all been resolved with good communication and check-in instructions before arrival. The main issues, though, was no hot water (lukewarm only) and only bath and pool towels, no hand or wash clothes (we bought some at Target). The host told VRBO that since hot water and linens were not on the amenities list, he did not need to provide them. Oh, okay. The host did show up to give us a key to open the front door and the back fence gate, which was nice. Since I run a vacation rental company with over 80 listings on VRBO, I am happy to provide some guidance to this host, so that guests will have a better experience than we did. This was a very stressful situation for us. I couldn't wait to get home and take a hot bath...
