The owners were very friendly, and seemed eager to have us stay. Oscar even purchased a cooler so we could take our lunches and drinks on our outings.
The house was 20 minutes from Oakhurst, about 10 to Northfork, and 60 to Fresno. Yosemite south entrance was also close. The layout of the house was good. Two separate zones for privacy. You could sleep a small army in all the beds, futons and sofas. Bathrooms worked well. View was great. Some days the mosquitoes made the deck unusable. Windy days helped with that. Lots of cute quail, and deer on property.
The only issues were the furnishings. Most of the beds were uncomfortable for me, and some of the sofas could be replaced. Kitchen is ready for new appliances, and cookware. We mostly made breakfasts, packed lunches and ate out dinner, so not a real issue for us.
Coyote Taco was a great place to eat and visit with locals. Also South Gate brewery was great for beer and appetizers. Oakhurst Grill at the Best Western was surprisingly good. We allso loved Smokehouse 44, but it seemed pricey.
The location, views and privacy made this a great house for visiting Yosemite. Having fishing poles, trekking poles and bikes would be handy to use. We flew and couldn't bring those with us. This house would be great for a bigger family getaway. Room to spread out, and for kids to run outside. We spread out as much a three adults could, and we ran around outside some also. We enjoyed our stay and loved being up in the mountains. Everyone should get outside and Rock the Park!
