The place to stay on Norfolk
Wayne met me at the aeroport with a rental car and from that moment I had an amazing time on the island. There was an opening at I was put in the Cascade Road property. It was fantastic - amazing views, lots of space, and close to Burnt Pine. Everything worked well and there was plenty of information in the flat. The free half-day tour was good for orientating myself on Norfolk. I thoroughly enjoyed staying with Holiday Homes and highly recommend this property for anyone thinking about visiting Norfolk Island. There are plenty of sights and eateries close by - even though the island is pretty compact and it's hard to get lost.

Norfolk Island - Beauty and Serenity
The "hotel" was a stand-alone, one bedroom, self contained cottage set in beautiful grounds. Well equipped and comfortable. Everything was provided including a car for our use while on the Island ($20 per day for Insurance and fill the car up when leaving). Also provided was a half day "orientation" tour (no cost).
The car is essential to visit the scenic parts and to get to town.
Take good walking shoes if you plan to venture down the walking tracks. Norfolk Island is not a flat terrain. The views are spectacular and worth the walk. Alternatively there are many tours available which will take you around the island.
Particularly recommended is the "History in the Making" half-day through Baunti Tours. The best of the three tours we joined.
Norfolk Island really has to be visited to be appreciated. No one locks cars or houses. That's the way of life. Everyone is very friendly and there is a respect for each other and everything else that is not found often (if at all).
This was a fantastic seven days - the best holiday ever.
