Everything was great and the owner was easy to work with. I appreciated his responsiveness. The only thing about it is that it's a couple of miles from these snowmobile trails, but it wasn't a big deal
This is our 3rd time staying at this property and its truly a gome away from home. Everything we need is here. HUBBY loves all the chanels, we loce that we are near Houghton, Baraga, and Ontos. Secluded beauty!
We like the place a lot! It’s become a part of our yearly trip(s). Country setting with plenty of room in the driveway for trailers/trucks. Owner has kept it up nicely and made some great additions over the years too!
Everything you need fora family getaway. Thoughtful hosts, comfortable beds and all the essentials for a great vacation! We will be back! Thanks Duane!
Our favorite place to stay! Always clean, cozy, and complete with everything you need for a getaway. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The home is clean and cozy. It's rare to feel at home away from home, but this property does it! The kids loved the hills in back and sledded for hours!! Hubby and I walked the forest and enjoyed the solitude.
This place was a great location for my brother and I while we hiked 6 days through the Trap Hills and beyond of the Trap Hills section of the North Country Trail. After hiking we came back to hot showers and lovely deck to relax at the end of the day. My husband and dog enjoyed the large yard and great wifi while we were gone.
After we found it (Google maps showed the address on the other side of the road...super strange), checking in was super easy. The house is set up well. It was a bit overwhelming with a Febreeze smell throughout and on the furniture, but other than that, we found all we needed to make our meals and have a nice weekend away. There's a trick to using the shower, but once you find the sweet spot, you get decent hot water. Plenty of trailer parking and located not far from trails and surrounding towns. Also, FYI, people have left seasonings, cooking sprays and coffee filters galore over time, which came in handy (we also contributed). We love when places have these extras!
The property was great - convenient to rock hounding sites both north and east. The home was comfortable, very nicely appointed and the deck was a wonderful place to hang out. There was little traffic on the road so it was very quiet and wonderfully dark for skywatching. Communication with the host was promptly answered and helpful. Overall, I'd definitely stay again and would recommend it to friends.
Was a very nice country home in rural Upper Michigan. A majority of our time was spent with family a few miles away. It turned out to be the perfect scenario for us this year. The house had everything you need for an extended stay.
Our family of 4 (+dog) stayed here for a week at mid to end of August and had a great time!
Extra blankets, huge yard and property, and a washer and dryer with supplies were just a few helpful perks.
The area is quiet and we noticed that the roads had been redone (no more potholes!). It’s quite the jaunt to the grocery store, but there are small marts nearby for essentials. Checkout the stand alone freezer at Kurt’s Korner for an epic ice cream selection!
We would definitely stay here again; Duane is the sweetest.
The house is in a great location for what we had planned for, Copper Harbor, Porcupine Mountain, and exploring the National forest. Super easy check in and a spacious kitchen welcomed us. Our long days ended relaxing on the back deck enjoying the beauty of the woods and sunsets. Having WiFi was great when our phones had no service, or for some movies at night. Duane was quick to help us when the WiFi had a hiccup. We had a great vacation because we could relax comfortably in a perfect little spot. Hopefully we can get back there soon.
