"Where to strat... Of all the hotels and homestays we have been in India, this is by far the worst experience. We chose this hotel because of its location, overseing Ooty, and because of the homely ambiance that transpired in their web site. When we first stept in to our room we noticed a odor of dampness, but as the door and windows had been left open, it wasen’t so bad. "Beautiful property snd rooms are very spacious and comfortable. It has all the modern amenities while retaining the old school charm of such an old building. We loved the wood burning fire place in the room as well. Breakfast was really good and staff at breakfast place was very friendly and courteous and service was top notch. Afternoon high tea was also amazing. Property has a beautiful courtyard and several charming cottages and suites. Highly recommend staying here for Ooty visit"

"Gateway is an older Taj property that reeks of old world charm. The cottages and gardens are expertly laid out and the service is attentive. My room was well appointed but old. Overall an excellent option in the Coonoor area."
