"Stayed on a Saturday evening. After travelling and a long day I was looking forward to a rest. The room was clean but no remote for the tv and the toilet seat was broken. I spoke to the staff and nothing materialised to sort either. Also there was entertainment which I wasn’t aware of so it was very noisy, especially as I was directly above them. "Lovely place, twin room was spacious and en-suite shower room very nice. My only issue was as the room was lovely and warm, I needed to open the window which allowed the noise from the busy road outside to disturb me, this is my issue as being too warm bothers me, no fault at all of the establishment, the doubling glazing prevented all noise, just a warning to others if room on the front. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay otherwise and would happily recommend to others "

"Lovely historical property and good value for money. Quiet location, great stop off for travelling on the A66, with Barnard Castle just a short drive. Easy check into cosy courtyard cottage. "All in all nice little cottage for a couple and good as was pet friendly to go up Durham to visit our son up uni and take our dog to see him too.
