The Neighborhood:
You couldn’t ask for a better spot for a house in Newquay. Just a one-minute walk to Tolcarne Beach, the sand and sea are at your fingertips. Sheltered and lifeguarded from July to November, it's ideal for both children and beginner surfers alike, with lessons and gear hire available from the beachfront.
Round the headland, you'll also find Fistral Beach, famous for larger waves and suitable for experienced surfers. There are a handful of great restaurants, shops and bars by Fistral Beach including Rick Steins and The Stable Pizza. On the Pentire Point, you will find the lovely Lewinnick Lodge which offers brilliant food with a coastal backdrop. It is around a 10-minute walk from the house or you can walk to the Headland in 15 minutes!
For keen walkers, the South West Coast Path runs seemingly endlessly in both directions and can be picked up at any point along the coast. Further afield, the world-famous Eden Project can be reached in around 30 30-minute drive and the art hub of St Ives in about 40 minutes. Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall, a vehicle is recommended for getting the most out of your time here. There is free off-road parking for 2 cars at the front of the property.
However, if you do not have a vehicle Newquay is one of the best towns in Cornwall to visit. Trains operated by Great Western Railway run into the centre of town all the way from London Paddington. The station is then only an 8-minute walk from the property. Newquay also has an international airport. So if you are travelling by air you can either rent a car or take a taxi from the airport. From here it is only a 15-minute drive to the house.
Other Things to Note:
Guests with mobility limitations should be aware the property is split over three floors.
