Crantock Cottage, stunning sea views, 10 mins to beach & equipped for children

Crantock Cottage is a spacious 4 bedroom property which sleeps 8 people plus a baby. (Some baby equipment is provided, please see below).

Downstairs you will find plenty of living space with a conservatory, sitting room, dining/family room, a well equipped kitchen, a utility room and downstairs loo. The kitchen, dining room and conservatory all have beautiful large windows which look out over stunning sea views across Crantock Bay and the surrounding headlands. Patio doors lead out from both the dining room and the conservatory onto a large wooden deck with table and chairs. Making inside/outside living easy. The deck is a perfect spot for relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine and watching the sun set over the bay.

Upstairs all 4 bedrooms are ensuite (2 kingsize bedrooms, 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom). The 2 spacious master bedrooms have 2 -3 large windows which provide panoramic sea views over the bay. Both these bedrooms have plenty of space to accommodate a cot.

The well kept garden has plenty of seating in which to enjoy the sun and watch the sea. In addition to the top deck by the house, there is also a further decked area with soft rattan chairs and a coffee table, at the bottom of the garden - this is a perfectly peaceful spot for grabbing one of the deckchairs, relaxing in the sun and watching the tide roll in, or getting away from everything with a book to the sound of the waves.

The property is fully equipped for babies and small children too. In the bedroom you will find a full size wooden folding cot with waterproof anti-allergenic breathable 10cm deep foam mattress. Other children's equipment provided includes high chair, black out blind, stairgates (at both top and bottom), plastic cups and bowls and a cold water steriliser. There are also a few books and toys for the little ones. (If you have twins/two babies, please let us know as it may be possible to provide two cots/highchairs for you).

The house is also equipped with a DVD player, freeview TV and superfast broadband. There is also a selection of board games, books and puzzles.

The kitchen, has all you need to cater for your group, with a large rangemaster with two ovens and 6 hobs, dishwasher, sink with hot water on demand, microwave, 2 fridges and a freezer.

The utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing facilities and an indoor airer and provides plenty of space for hanging towels, coats and shoes.

There is also a secure lockable shed/outhouse which is great for storing your bikes, surfboards etc

Bed linen and bath towels are provided.

We also rent an apartment next door to Crantock Cottage, which sleeps 5 in two bedrooms, so if you have an extended group please do enquire.

Crantock cottage is in the heart of the quintessentially Cornish village of Crantock, and is just a 5-10 minute walk via a footpath down to the beach, making it an ideal base for family beach holidays. In addition there are many local attractions and activities nearby in Newquay and Truro

Crantock is lovely picturesque village with many amenities including convenience shop, post office, tea rooms and a 400 year old thatched village pub which serves good quality food. Outside the heart of the village there is also a beach cafe and a cliff top restaurant and bistro looking out over the sea.

The main reason people consider Crantock to be one of the most desirable places to visit is its large sandy bay, (perfect for paddling, swimming and surfing) and the protected National Trust headlands and Gannel Estuary which provides a haven for wildlife and birds.

Nearby is the secluded beach of Polly Joke, without a carpark and only accessed via a footpath - it is perfect for relaxing far away from it all.

The nearest town is Newquay, which is a vibrant fishing town which can be accessed by foot and ferry or by road from Crantock. Newquay has a wide range of family activities (zoo, aquarium, cinema etc) souvenir shops and excellent night life. Newquay boasts 4 large beaches, which offer a variety of water based activities including, surfing lessons, coasteering, paddle boarding and fishing trips.

Crantock is also a great base for visiting the cathedral town of Truro (13 miles away), which has excellent shopping, museums and restaurants. A little further is the harbour town of Falmouth (23 miles away), with a fantastic maritime museum and plenty of opportunities for windsurfing, kayaking and sailing.

Other local attractions include the world famous Eden Project (Botanical Gardens) (21 miles away) and The Lost Gardens of Helligan and other national trust houses and gardens. Similarly children will have plenty to do with many local activity centres and theme parks.

Access and parking: Crantock is easily accessible by road and is only 5 miles away from Cornwall's main access road (A30). The property has off road parking for 3 cars.

Newquay train station and airport is only 5 miles from the property.

Spacious, well equipped cottage with beautiful views
The cottage was more than we had expected. Brilliantly equipped kitchen, coupled with toys, games and books to keep all ages entertained. The garden was brilliant for the children when we were not at the beach, out walking or exploring. The guide prepared by the owners was a great starting point with some useful tips. A box of tea bags, a packet of biscuits, box of fudge and a pint of milk was the perfect touch after a long drive down to Cornwall. We had a really lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay...the daily handful of blackberries picked by the children from the garden to top their holiday pancake breakfasts was one of the highlights.

Perfect home for a holiday!
Excellent communication with this property, Vicky was quick and check really easy. Good driving instructions too!. We stayed as a family with children in 20’s and parents 60’s. Great location, amazing having en-suites in every room. Hidden gem with rattan sofa at the bottom of the garden was perfect. Beautiful sunsets that you can see from outside or in the conservatory ( where we spent a lot of the time). Thanks again Vicky, would definitely stay again.

Crantock Cottage experience
Arriving Friday 4th February 2022. From outside it is inviting. On looking around first was the dirty kitchen bin. Then rusty old looking toaster. Landing carpet covered in white bits from loft above. Blue over blanket in main bedroom soiled with what looked like grease stains. Family bathroom radiator not clean appeared like rusty marks which did come off with CIF cleanser. Bath panel does not move offering little space to manoeuvre. Photos taken. Vicky the host did apologise and a new toaster arrived on Monday evening. We therefore felt the cottage had not been deep cleaned and also to a Covid standard. We have been highly disappointed and so needed this break and only rescued by the beautiful area and polite texts from the host - Annette and Henry

Great Holiday
We stayed here for a week in July 2021. There were a mix of ages and the property was big enough for the 6 of us to live comfortably together for a week. There was enough space for us not to be tripping over each other. The facilities are fabulous and the property had everything we need. The location was in a good spot for local amenities and also to do a bit of travelling around Cornwall. We would definitely recommend the cottage as well as use it again if we were in the area. A+

Superb holiday base
This was easily one of the best equipped holiday homes we have ever stayed in. The house itself was lovely with many spacious rooms and conservatory, amazing views down to the Crantock coast, comfortable bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. Our young grandchildren loved it. Plus our course it had a perfect location within easy walking distance of Crantock village and beach.

Thank you Vicky, Great communication from the start. We had a wonderful family holiday in Crantock Cottage, four of us in our 50's & two parents in their 80's, the pictures do not really do justice to this fantastic Holiday Home, There maybe a few areas where a little updating wouldn't hurt, but the general charm, size & beautiful views far out way any of these. Hope to return again soon Paul & Sue

Fab holiday in Crantock
We had a great time in Crantock cottage! The cottage is equipped with everything you need, and as we were staying near Christmas it was a nice touch to arrive and find a beautifully decorated Christmas tree too :) Crantock has a lovely small village feel, but is also very close to many other amenities and good links to explore other parts of Cornwall. Also there is a lovely sandy beach and some great coastal walks right on the doorstep. I would also recommend visiting Trevilley Farm store, only a couple miles away, for some good local produce. Thanks Vicky for a great holiday, and for making the booking and checking in process so easy!

Fantastic house, great location and stunning views of Crantock beach and the surrounding valley.
We has a wonderful time during our 4 night stay. The house is located very close to Newquay so supplies can be sought with ease. The A30 is also only a few miles away for links to the whole of Cornwall. A great base to go out and explore! Every room is en-suite and bed rooms are spacious. There is ample room downstairs even for eight people to spread out! Kitchen is well kitted out with a big range master for meals in. The owners are very friendly and happy to help. A welcome pack is very detailed with thinks to do in the surrounding area. All in all a great experience and our family intends on returning in the future, which shows our delight with the holiday home!
