The wharf area is very nice and convenient to shopping and dining in Newport. The front desk and custodial staff are also very helpful and kind. The property is in desperate need of a facelift. It's gone downhill in the 6 years since I last visited. The indoor pool area is falling apart, particularly the surface surrounding the pool. The pebble floor is coming up and sticking to peoples feet and leaving large areas of exposed cement. Not to mention the rocks then get in the pool. The indoor hot tub was also not working on a few occasions during our short 4 day stay. I have fond memories of the friendly staff in the activities center helping people out and offering advice on all the crafts they had to offer. Long gone are those days. The individual working the activities center now is beyond grumpy and barely speaks to any of the guests. Your lucky if she offers up a smile to a child. I'm not sure if they are desperate for help of they just don't train their employees properly. As far as the hotel units, the heat/AC sounds like a Jetstream when turned on. It will literally wake you up out of your sleep. I don't know how this is acceptable. When booking you also must mention that you do not require a handicapped room because if your randomly placed (like us) you may have one shower which is useless unless you want to attempt to shower crammed next to a bench whist praying the shower water will not flood the bathroom floor as there is no door, ledge or incline to help!!

Great value. We needed multiple rooms for Grandparents, parents and children. This setup was perfect, and the price was excellent. The pool was fun, and the location was close to everything we needed.
