"Stayed at the cottage for 8 days, 50/50 working and enjoying life in the country. James was super helpful in all things - including letting me to use his bike (I was without a car) and giving me a lift to Ennis when I wanted to visit Doolin and the cliffs. Holy Island with its ancient remains of a monastery is a must see - the place is pretty much sacred and it feels that way. You can get a boat ride to and from the island from Mountshannon. There is a nice pub in the village with friendly hosts...

Situated on the outskirts of Mountshannon, you do need transport, but with car in hand you will be able to visit the highlights of the region. just bare in mind local 'R' roads can be narrow with high hedges, and meeting commercial traffic might test your nerves. "We really enjoyed our stay. Close to the Castle and folk park as well as shops and restaurants. Carol was very helpful with providing tips for dinning, site seeing and shopping. With four adults, it was nice to have the three bedrooms and two and a half baths. We would definitely stay here again."
