Hadrian’s Wall is easily reached, and a trip to The Sill, a modern tourist attraction, is only 31 miles. Whilst out discovering Hadrian’s Wall country, drop into Hexham and stop off at the abbey with the old Saxon crypt, or visit the Tuesday market set out on The Shambles.
