These three holiday properties are situated on the very edge of a working farm and are centrally located to explore all the delights of this friendly county. Old Horton Grange (ref MVS) is a spacious, detached, former family country house and is an ideal retreat for all generations, whether it’s a break for that special occasion or a family holiday. The property has large living rooms, a games room and four cosy wood burners, as well as a generous garden for relaxing. Parts of this delightful house date back over 400 years, so plenty of traditional features, mixed with contemporary living, await you. The Stables (ref UKC2532) sits behind Old Horton Grange, all one level this U-shaped spacious former stable block, dating back to the 18th century, has a large living area with a double sided wood burner, and offers two living areas. The open beamed features and limestone flooring offers a touch of country living with a contemporary twist. It benefits from a pleasant courtyard for relaxing and sitting out. The Bothy House (ref MQD), set in its own 1-acre of tranquil and peaceful woodland features an atrium-style ceiling and stands detached 100 yards down the quiet lane. This unusual bothy house boasts breathtaking sunsets from the glorious south-facing full length windows.Please note The Bothy does not have Wi-Fi.
The picturesque town of Ponteland is nearby, with plenty of shops and eateries suitable for all ages. A charming, award-winning farm shop centre is only a couple of minutes’ drive. Easily accessible are all the attractions of the county, including Hadrian’s Wall and the Cheviots. An easy drive takes visitors to the miles of golden sandy beaches scattered along the Heritage Coast, peppered with castles, friendly villages and is ideal for water enthusiasts, perfect for lovely days out. Further along the coast is Holy Island, not to be missed for a fascinating day trip (watch out for the tides), Alnwick with its famous castle used in the Harry Potter films and the enchanting water gardens, which can be reached in around 45 minutes. Newcastle, with its regenerated quayside, galleries, theatres and an array of shops, is only a 15-minute drive.
