"Responsiveness from Owner was horrible. Sent email weeks in advance with no response until day before. Stayed opening day of season for camp. Not enough utensils or pots and pans to make a meal. If only looking for very rustic fish camp with roof overhead, then this is place for you. Family vacation is it not. "Hosts are very welcoming and show you everything and thought of everything. Very private with large grassy yard My golden doodle had a blast playing fetch and being off leach. We played bocce ball and enjoyed the fire pit as well as the lit screened in picnic table in the evening. Cabin is compact but windows let in a wee breeze. The kayaks were the highlight, kayaking to the waterfall. Happy, relaxing time 😎🐶"

"We arrived late due to 4 accidents in 401 west, DVP and 401 East. The website says check in after 4 pm, but the owner said that it is at 4 pm and as such she had to pay the money we paid her to the property manager to wait for us. there was no paper in the washroom which was very dirty. the rooms, dishes, appliances were all dirty. there was no gas for BBQ and no oven tray to cook the food we brought. the owner kept on blaming us for being late and that she did not make money out of our stay....

Sunset Waters Cottage at the Heart of Big Rideau Lake

Spacious cottage with amazing waterfront!

"My family had a great weekend stay at the cottage. Overall the cottage was stocked and setup with everything we needed (with the exception of shampoo which I thought the ad stated was provided - I only found a few bars of soap). The beds and linens are crazy comfortable! The large sofa in the living room is perfect for large groups. We had a boat with us so the dock was amazing to have! Overall a great stay! A few details of the cottage are getting a little well used and will need updating (exterior seating, one set of kitchen lights didn’t work, toilet paper holder wasn’t attached the wall) but none of these really made much of a difference. The only really annoying thing was the host has an automated alarm at the front entrance that keeps saying “you are trespassing” over and over again if motion activated. This definitely wasn’t a nice welcome for our group as we arrived. Feel like that could be turned off when the cottage is rented. "
