Outside the screened-in porch is a charcoal grill and fire pit. Avenwood Cabins offers private cabin getaways in the beautiful Wayne National Forest. Our woodland escape ensures relaxation while providing modern amenities. Each cabin boasts state-of-the-art hot tubs with a view of the forest, queen-sized beds for guest comfort, air conditioning for those warmer months, WIFI and Roku-equipped televisions to keep you connected, and of course a pet-friendly environment for your fur babies!

The cabin was nice and just what i needed. This particular cabin is right on the road to the other cabins so there is not as much privacy as expected. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.

We only stayed 1 night now wishing I had booked 2 nights for the area. The cabin is a cute little place. My only complaint was the bedding. Take your own pillows a mattress pad if you have back issues. Otherwise I loved every minute of my stay. If I'm ever back in this area I would rent the same cabin again.

Great getaway cabin

Exactly as advertised and a perfect cabin getaway for 2 plus a dog. Great spot out in the woods, perfect for a long weekend. Host was very quick to respond and fix the small maintenance issue we experienced (shower didn't shut off but was resolved very quickly). 100% would recommend and book again.

Charming Little Get Away

My husband and I spent a weekend here for our 10th anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful time! The cabin is very charming and perfect for a couple looking for a quiet, relaxing time together. The location was easy to get to. We visited Hocking Hills Winery and the local antique mall, which were both very close by. This will be our go to place when visiting Hocking Hills in the future!

Updated cabin in a lovely setting

My husband and I had a very enjoyable night’s stay at the Old Moonshiner’s Cabin. We were surprised by its charming new paint job and the spacious shower that overlooks (if you want it to) the beautiful wooded surroundings. We would’ve liked updated instructions for the fireplace, since the ones from the QR code didn’t load. everything else

Decent cabin

It was good for one night. We had to change cabins because our hot tub didn’t work and thought we were getting a tub inside the cabin but didn’t. Shower was nice in the first cabin perfect for two people but second cabin was tiny shower. Couch was broke in second cabin.

Pictures are misleading.

We had a wonderful stay. However the pictures and description of the cabin are not accurate. They don’t have a jacuzzi tub as stated. When we got in shower there was a dirty washcloth hanging. We had a nice relaxing weekend . Just wish we got what we thought we were paying for.

Nice, cozy cabin!

It’s a nice little cabin! It was very cozy and we were comfortable there for our wedding anniversary. We were surprised when we got there, it has been updated since the photos of the listing were taken. There is now a shower rather than the spa tub in the bedroom, which is lovely. The shower steam spreads throughout the entire cabin though. The ceiling fan in the bedroom also doesn’t work, which allowed the steam to sit for longer. “Basic soaps” are hand soap and dish soap, so bring your own shower soaps! We were hoping for hotel like shampoo or body wash to be included in basic soaps. Overall though a very nice stay in a great little cluster of small cabins. We will be back for sure!

Peace, quiet, secluded, relaxation at its best!

My wife and I found this gem on VRBO. We had never been there and the description is precise! The pictures are up to date, communication is fast, the place is clean, and the amenities listed are exact! We had a bad thunderstorm our first night and it knocked the power out, the management communicated restoration happily to us. Upon power returning, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We will visit again, as the things to explore in the area will take longer than a couple weeks, let alone the 3 nights we stayed! Do yourself a favor, check it out for yourself, you will NOT be disappointed!!! The price is more than competitive as well! Thank you Colonels Quarters, for a memorable time, we will not forget, we will be back, and we will tell our friends and anyone that asks about somewhere to get away!

Moonshiners cabin

It's a nice secluded cabin. Definitely take firewood for your fire pit and the outside grill is not much of a grill. Had a surprise visitor from a mouse. Overall the 2 night stay was a 3 star with the price of everything.

Great place to relax in the woods. Nice screened in porch with a jacuzzi & bedroom also has whirlpool tub to enjoy. Place needs a little handyman tlc & cleaning but overall good place for price.

Couples getaway trip....

Rented the old moonshiner cabin for the weekend. It is definitely off the grid. Wasnt expecting that road to the cabins. Guess I should of read the other reviews when they say use a truck or suv. Has a sign where you go into the cabin area but the road that leads to it Def need some kind of sign at the end of the road . Tree limbs everywhere . Def needs a new couch . So low to the floor could barely get out of it lol. The tub faucet didn't work. I let them know . Said would get ahold of maintance but never fixed it. Just needs some fixing up. We changed the batteries to the remote. They weren't working. I mean.. it wasn't all bad.. was quiet out there. Had some time alone. I was just hoping the bath tub would of gotten fixed. Doesn't have a shower fyi... it was an experience tho.
