I have been coming to WG Creole 1850 on a regular basis. This is an outstanding stay, particularly for those who enjoy taking the road less traveled. You will not meet a finer human being than Melissa, a beautiful warm welcoming spirit who makes surre the rooms spit spot for your stay. So much mindfulness evident everywhere. Love the high ceilings and chandelierrs. When you stay here you are staying in a beautiful home, not a cookie cutter hotel room. And you are just a block and a half from the uptown streetcar. Definitely a great stay, particilarly for those who dance to a different drummer. There is a reason they have exceptional ratings. Keep in mind with rates well below downtown hotels, your expectation should be a beautiful historic home with fantastic hosts, an outstanding value. At the same time this isn't a traditional hotel with traditional hotel services. Parking is street parking. A few blocks away near the 90 overpass, as wilth many urban areas, you may encounter people experiencing homelessness. While I have never personally felt unsafe, those unfamiliar with the area should be aware. This is the only cautionary note which IMHO is far outweighed by the extraordinary stay provided by the hosts and this beautiful historic home.

Enjoyed staying here 10/31-11/3/24. Melissa was awesome. Bed was comfortable and I slept sound. If you stay here, you can easily take the street car for $1.25 or purchase a Jazzy Pass ($8/3days). It’ll take you pretty much where you wanna go.

This house is beautiful! The room we stayed in was so perfect for our stay in NOLA. It was clean, spacious, easy to access, and the bed was super comfortable. Parking was very easy; we were able to park right in front of the house each day. We were a 2 minute walk from Maïs Arepas restaurant, which was so delicious. We highly recommend it. We will definitely book here again!

I was very disappointed by my brief stay. The bed was unbearable - a giant marshmallow, the air conditioning unit was very loud and made it impossible to sleep and while there was a window, the exterior is blocked by a shade so that no natural light can enter. I couldn’t stay there and cut short our visit. For the traveler not bothered by comfort, noise and lack of sunlight, it may work but I was miserable.

Property description was inadequate at the reservation. No Staff. AirBNB style padlock entry. Communication only via text. The bathroom was in the hallway. VERY NOISY in the room due to a humidifier and stand-up a/c. No mirror in the room. The bed is very soft. The bathroom did not have standard amenities like moisturizer, etc. Cocount shampoo - hope you like the smell :-( Customer service over text was rude. Parking on the street. Bedroom and bathroom door had keypad entry which was not functional - so safety concerns. Not recommended.

We had a wonderful experience here at the WG Creole House. After a late arrival on Friday night, it was nice to get to walk into such an inviting, homey place. They keep rates low by not doing things like daily room cleaning during your stay or having someone there to check you in so just aware of what you’re booking - I preferred this and it all went very smoothly. Staff was very welcoming and kind and very responsive when I had a question. Rooms were clean and spacious and the kitchen and dining area downstairs was a nice option when needed. You’re staying in a place that was originally built in 1850 so keep that in mind but it’s been very well maintained and cared for and we absolutely loved it. Thank you to the WG Creole House for having us! It made our first trip to New Orleans very special. Further details: close to the French Quarter but not so close that it was loud, you can catch the streetcar nearby and make your way to most nearby tourist attractions. Lots of nearby restaurants we enjoyed visiting or getting delivery from like Monday’s, Poseidon, Cleo’s, and more.

Great stay!
Check in was super easy. Thrilled to have free parking. The house was spotless. The thing that really caught my attention was the silence. I’ve stayed all over the city and this place was so quiet. Very comfortable.

I stay here at least once a year, it's very sage, quiet, and clean. The amount of space in your room will outmatch other comparable spots. Its about a 5 minute walk to the St. Charles streetcar. Take advantage of this opportunity!

This hotel is cheaper than the others surrounding this. While our stay was not terrible, we can see why there is a cost difference. Pros: the hotel is in a historical property and the common areas are beautiful. The housekeeper was very nice and we were close to the activities we wanted to do in NOLA. Each room has a mini fridge. Kitchen has a microwave. Cons: the surrounding area is dirty and very smelly. There was a large dumpster sitting outside of the hotel, likely related to ongoing construction in the area, but it smelled terrible and attracted flies. No designated parking, but we did not have issues with street parking (however, not sure if this would be a problem on weekends). Heard a lot of police cars at night. In our rooms, the curtains do not cover the windows fully so when the sun rises it becomes very bright in the room, and always woke me up. It would have been nice to have a little caring touch to welcome us, such as access to filtered water. That was not the case so we walked to a gas station to buy our own. The first night we arrived, the front door did not lock properly. The owners and employees of the hotel are not on site so it was a bit alarming to have the door unsecured given the area. But when we alerted the owner to the issue through text, they fixed it quickly. So, it’s not like I would not recommend someone to stay here, but I probably wouldn’t again.

A beautiful place
Thank you Melissa for your amazing vibe, for offering your beautiful house. Heads up everyone, if you like dirtiness, this isn't your place. It's spotless! 4 min walk to one of the streetcars for the town centre. 10 min walk to the bus and train terminal. Thank you Travis for your quick responses to my emails. Very proactive.
