About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

This is it! Renovated, Historic Bayou 3BR/2BA! Only 1 mile to French Quarter!

Historic Mid City Bayou St. John is one of New Orleans' safest and most desirable neighborhoods ranked the #1 "coolest" neighborhood in entire USA by Time Out magazine in 2023.

We received a VRBO license in the recent city lottery. You can book with confidence that your rental will still be active when you arrive:

License 23-NSTR-14764 expires 6/30/25.

Home is walking distance to Jazz Fest, City Park, famous restaurants Cafe Degas, Lola's, Santa Fe, 1000 Figs, and iconic watering holes like Pal's Lounge, Liuzza's, and Deutches Haus Beer Hall.

Start your mornings right just one block away at the legendary
CC's Coffee House featuring New Orleans best coffee and king cakes!

Walk to City Park and it's new Cafe Du Monde location for beignets. Walk to Streetcar, Live Music, The Fairgrounds Race Track, Casino, and Sports Book.

This newly remodeled home was built in the late 1800s as a classic "Shotgun" and later updated to provide three private bedrooms and two full baths. The original heart pine flooring has been beautifully restored throughout. Historic architectural attributes remain such as 12 ft high soaring ceilings, ornate millwork, stained glass, antique transom windows, aged hearths, and original solid oak 5 panel doors. Homes are no longer built with this level of artisanship.

New gourmet chef's kitchen is a dream featuring Viking 5 series professional appliances including 36" gas range and hood, huge 42" side by side refrigerator, drawer microwave, and dishwasher. Beautiful dining room includes Grange walnut furnishings from France.

The primary bedroom suite has a queen sleigh bed and attached full bath. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms both have queen beds. 2nd full bath is off the central hallway. Both bathrooms recently renovated.

There are 3 wall mounted TVs. Fast and reliable WIFI for work and streaming. We also include "Cox Ultimate" cable with premier sports package w/ NFL Network, HBO, Showtime, & Cinemax. DVR on each TV if you want to record that sports game or favorite show. There is a comfortable work station armoire in the dining room if you need to bring your laptop.

This faubourg (neighborhood) was the first French settlement in New Orleans. Nearby Cafe Degas is arguably the best French restaurant in New Orleans. On the banks of Bayou St. John, the area is known for its architecture, live music, lush parks, gorgeous waterways and fabulous cuisine.

Heavenly hideaway
We had questions and the host contacted us immediately and answered us fully. They also made several recommendations for restaurants snd music all of which we tried and loved. The property was even better the described or the pictures show. Clean doesn't say it well enough. Spotless, sparkling home with fresh crisp linens, fluffy huge towels and so comfortable. High ceilings, beautiful furnishings, whisper quiet air conditioning and convenience items like basics cleaning and consumable items, paper towels, trash bags well supplied. We traveled very early day and the host allowed us to make arrangements to stow our luggage so we could spend the day sightseeing ... they were so kind and helpful it was like traveling to stay with old friends. There was more than adequate parking and we were in proximity to all the french quarter offers but in a quiet and quaint neighborhood. Beds were very comfortable and the soaking tub amazing after a long day the 2nd bathroom had a luxury, huge glassed in shower and towels were thick and plentiful. Laundry room was well stocked and so helpful to freshen all out items before packing for home. A lovely stay. Highly recommend and are planning to return and rebook in the fall 2024.

Ladies Birthday Trip
Our group traveled to New Orleans to celebrate two birthdays as one of the birthday girls had never been to New Orleans. This location was great as it was close to the airport, Canal Street, French Quarter, French Market and an area we were told about that in all my trips to New Orleans I had never heard about. If you like live music and a little more mature crowd visit Frenchmen Street. The house was homey and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The owners of the home were a pleasure to work with, very communicative and helpful in answering questions about the area. If you are visiting New Orleans I would recommend this home for your stay.

A great house
Andrew was very attentive and prompt to answer any questions I had. The shotgun house was converted to have private bedrooms and is as described. The neighbor is very cute and a typical middle class NOLA neighborhood. It’s location is ideal to get around to all the hot spots.

Great house, great location, great host. Couldn’t have been happier with this place. Host was very responsive and informative both before and during our stay. Only downside was the back yard wasn’t conducive to kids playing; just rocky.

Perfect !
From start to finish we had an amazing trip. Contacted host for lunch recommendation nearby as were arriving early and he immediately offered us an early check-in. East access with door code. House was even better than photos. Amazing kitchen with great appliances. We were in town for Tulane graduation and this was an easy 12minute Uber to both the college and French Quarter. Bedrooms very comfortable and so quiet - we all slept well. Bathrooms modern and spacious. Nice size dining table perfect for 4 of us. Living room could have used an extra chair - not a lot of room even with just 4 of us but that was such a non-issue when everything else was so comfortable and inviting. Hope we can book again for a family wedding next Spring. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable retreat in this energetic wonderful city.

The house was perfect for our stay! It was the perfect location for Jazz Fest and we were able to walk to and from the festival every day. The house was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of space for our group. Lori and Andrew were amazing hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and were quick to respond to any messages or questions we had. We will definitely be back next year!

Very comfortable and great neighborhood and location.
I run a VRBO, two units in Galveston above the historic star drug store restaurant. We always furnish coffee for guests and some sweet rolls for when they arrive, because some come late at night and don’t want to hunt for a grocery store the next morning to make coffee. Also I would suggest revising the steps to go to the patio outback, they’re very uneven and can be a trip hazard for old folks like me. One thing I want to mention, the push down knob on the toaster on the right side is cracked or broken. It slides on but won’t stay on. Period if you are ever in Galveston, please check us out, we are a VRBO downtown we’re all the action is above the old Star drugstore restaurant. You can Google it. I will treat you to breakfast in my daughters restaurant down below. In the oldest drug store in Texas.

Perfect spot for your NOLA visit
This house was perfect! Safe and accessible street parking allowed for easy access when we arrived. The beautiful, historic home was very clean and amazingly updated. The interior is stunning! Beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need if you choose to use the amazing appliances to prepare meals during your stay. The owners were very easy to work with and very timely with communication. Easy access to all the big local areas within a 10 minute drive or Uber. City Park and CC’s coffee add to this lovely area of town. Coffee is just a short two block walk which was a wonderful treat. We felt very safe in and around this property which is very important to know if you’re coming from out of town. We would highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

Cute and quiet street, very beautifully remodeled with everything you could need. I appreciated the quality of the interior, furnishings and decor. The beds were beautifully appointed and comfortable. Loved the modernness of the home while still being original. Great restaurants up Esplanade and a quick Uber to French Quarter. Also loved that there wasn’t a checklist of a bunch of requirement upon departure. The detailed instructions for checkin and using the features of the home were excellent. We loved staying here with our big teenage boys, each having their own bed plus the 2 bathrooms.
