The Brakeman Hotel is a great place to stay when visiting New Orleans! 4 block walk to Bourbon St/ French Quarter. Mr. Gregory is the man! He was very accommodating and gave excellent recommendations for food, jazz, bars, and entertainment!

Loved this property! The Brakeman Hotel entrance also contained the Basin St. Station which is the city of New Orleans' welcome center with adjoining landscaped parking for visitors. The first floor contains a staffed visitor information center featuring educational community exhibits, a performance venue, a walking tour kiosk, and an authentically New Orleans and Louisiana gift shop! The first floor is not a traditional hotel lobby per se but guests have access to the building entrance with the use of their room key. This safety measure was very reassuring, especially after the doors are closed to the public in the late afternoon. Our deluxe room was very nice with a comfy king bed and a wonderful view overlooking St Louis Cemetery No.1 and looking towards the French Quarter.

We absolutely loved The Brakeman Hotel! Renisha manages the Front desk and was incredible! She looked after all our needs from arrival to calling us a taxi on our departure day. The location is perfect and very easily walkable to the French Quarters! We would definitely stay at The Brakeman Hotel again.

This hotel is located within walking distance to most the French Quarter, Canal Street and Treme. It is within walking distance to the streetcars and one of the stops for the on off tour bus. The staff is Top Notch, best staff I have experienced in a long time.. My room was very comfortable with a refrigerator and coffee maker. I will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in the Visitors Center on Basin Street. It is an old railway station. The hotel has the charm of the old-style railway stop. Wooden walls and exposed brick make this hotel unique. The rooftop area is limited to special occasions. Across the street to the old cemetery.

We had a great stay over Easter weekend. Friendly staff and convenient location close to the French Quarter and sightseeing. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Loved the café in the lobby to get coffee, drinks and light snacks.

All of the staff were tremendous, friendly and helpful. Eric is an exceptional young man and went above and beyond assisting us with our late night questions and needs. Gregg is a bright light and brings vivacious positive energy. The rooms were clean and elegant. Having yours during the day from the hotel and being a hop on hop off site was amazing as we could find out about anything and everything there was to do and see. That being said, when it was time to rest the hotel was peaceful and quiet. Thank you for a great stay!
