Perfect quiet get away
I wanted a peaceful vacation spot on top of a mountain and this did not disappoint! All of the modern amenities and exceptionally clean. AWD is a must! The bed, pillows and linens were incredibly comfortable! Very well supplied with everything you will need. Extremely dog friendly, but you also can't tell any previous dog stayed there, so even if you have no pets it's amazing. Highly recommended!

Beautiful and Cozy Property Close to Luray
My daughter and I had a great time staying at this impeccable and cozy house. It was well-stocked, including all dishware, coffee maker, linens/bedding and in a really nice location near the top of a ridge. If you’ve got an AWD, you’ll have no problems accessing. The house is in a fairly rustic location and is quiet, but reasonably close to Luray Caverns and assorted hiking trails. We enjoyed our time here and would come back!

Fun Mountain Cabin
My husband and I, and dog, were in town for JMU parents weekend. This cabin was about 25 min to campus and we were happy to have a place our son could hang with us to spend time with him. This is a quaint cabin high up a mountain, so no joke you need awd or 4 wheel drive. If you are afraid of heights, this probably is not for you. All amenities you could possibly need are there and super dog friendly! (Sheets, blankets, towels, shampoo, conditioner, dog bowls, poop bags- to name a few)The view from this cabin is spectacular! It is a quiet area and the nature is very peaceful. Gas fireplace warms it up Fast. Outside screened in deck was adorable. Went to Miller’s Restaurant, The Italian Job, and Dans Steak House, all were good. Also hit a few wineries and a JMU football game. Fun time!

A most comfortable stay around Shenandoah
We had a really great experience with this rental. We stay pretty active, hiking and exploring but enjoy coming back to a comfortable place to rest. We were able to cook a few breakfasts and even a dinner when the weather was iffy. Bed was comfy, shower was warm, air conditioning throughout. It was like a little home away from home. A great place to relax and recharge. The pics don’t do it justice IMO.

The Little Lodge
My husband, his cousin & wife, and our fur babies truly enjoyed our stay. From the front porch enjoying nature, the screened in porch with a friendly/competitive card game, meals on the screened in porch or dining room table, spacious living room, and bedrooms with separate baths. The Host also provided some extras that made our visit fabulous. We did the majority of our shopping locally & found everything we needed. While enjoying the firepit, we also purchased a small charcoal grill to cook on - don’t know if it’s because we were hungry or the mountain air, but awesome burger & hot dogs. However, we did enjoy breakfast & a dinner at Southern Kitchen - really good food & the service was fantastic. While our exploring was limited, we did visit 2 of the caverns (highly recommend Luray Caverns) and scenic drives around town. Also drove to Gettysburg to see battlefield & other historical sites. Our fur babies enjoyed their stay as well. The Doggie Door with fence in area was perfect & convenient. I believe they enjoyed the porches & outdoors as much as we did. And the little extras provided by the Host are fabulous. Was so busy enjoying everything, I failed to sign the Guest Book but definitely give it 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend this property.

Amazing Memorial Day Weekend Getaway
We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin. The hosts went above and beyond to create a homey and inviting stay for not only us but our sweet dog too! We enjoyed our mornings on the deck drinking coffee and reading. We headed out during the day for hiking and exploring nearby towns. In the evenings, we hung out by the firepit with an amazing view of the backyard woods. What a perfect getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Little Lodge. Great communication from the property manager too. Allowing us to bring our 2 dogs was definitely what sold us on the place. Please listen to the warning about the type of vehicle needed to access the property. It's 100% accurate, but totally worth it. Thanks for sharing the Little Lodge with us. We had a wonderful visit!

We had an amazing time at The Little Lodge. It was very dog friendly and even had an automatic pet door so our dog could let himself out into the pen area as he pleased! The screened in porch was great and we loved watching the kids play off the deck. The Little Lodge was clean, well equipped for cooking, and there were several ideas for dining and day adventures in the area. Would recommend over and over again!

5 year Anniversary trip with our pups!
If you are looking to get away from the city, this is the place. It is so quiet and peaceful! We enjoyed the sunrises and the sunsets during our stay with a fresh cup of coffee. We picked this place, because of how close it was to so many trails. Perfect spot! When we first arrived the fireplace was not working, Erin quickly responded. She walked me through how to get it started, she was so friendly and helpful. Our pups loved the place so much, they did not want to get in the car when we were leaving LOL. We would absolutely stay here again. This place made us realize we want to live in the mountains! Thank you Erin for the Beautiful place!

Little lodge doesn’t disappoint
What a nice clean little property. A nice quiet stay that was as advertised. A quiet area, in the woods and even has a doggie door and small fenced area for your favorite Pup. A few notable items on the gravel road include, a junk filled lot with no trespassing signs. Don’t really think anyone wants to trespass on that trashed oasis, and the dude apparently living in a white old Chevy Van? No fault of little lodge. We were happy to stay there, and would recommend to others..

Great Shenandoah getaway
The Little Lodge is a wonderful retreat! It’s set off the beaten path, but very close to Newmarket, Luray, and lots of nearby hikes. If you have AllTrails, check out the Storybook trail- it’s a couple miles from the house. The place is exactly how it is shown- super cute and comfy with everything you need. Wifi connectivity is great, which is unusual for the mountains- movies at night were fun to watch from the futon! And the doggie door is about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. The owner is not exaggerating when they state the need for a four-wheel-drive vehicle to get up the roads and the driveway, so please take note! Perfect stay for us and my dogs:)

Weekend getaway
This is a lovely place up in the hills of the Shenandoah Valley region. It is very nicely furnished and equipped. Provided was everything we needed and we were quite comfortable. The gas fireplace heats really well. I loved the abundance of windows with views of the wooded surrounding. Please note- it will require an AWD or 4WD vehicle to access the last mile up the drive. Somehow I missed seeing that in my first look at the listing. But, luckily we have an AWD pickup.

Just what we needed!
The “Little Lodge” was absolutely perfect for our family of four to spend the weekend exploring Luray and New Market. We loved the location and getting to wake up and have coffee overlooking the mountain and counting the deer that moved through. We’ve never rented a pet friendly house so we were a little nervous about cleanliness but there was absolutely no indication of pets having been there previously as the house was very clean. The ride up the mountain to the house was fun but as stated in the description 4WD or AWD is a must. We found our time at the “Little Lodge” very relaxing. We enjoyed the screened in back porch by playing cards and drinking wine, and cooked S’Mores outside at the fire pit. We look forward to staying here again and would recommend it to any couples or small families that are looking for a relaxing time with a beautiful scenery.

We had a wonderful short stay at The Little Lodge! I love the mountains and we were definitely on a mountain. The trees were all changing and the scenery was beautiful! The small town of New Market was very easily accessible from the lodge. We did some hiking, went to the Civil War Museum and Battlefield, did some local shopping, & roasted s’mores back at the lodge on the fire pit. I loved that we could bring our two dogs. They had fun getting used to the doggie door and exploring the property. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer. Maybe next time.
