We had a great stay at this property. There is lots of room inside and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the fire pit area outside. Air conditioning was definitely a plus!! It was a great location with lots of places to explore nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay here for 5 days. It was the perfect central location for travelling all the trails around Cape Breton Island. Kim was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to anyone coming to Cape Breton for a vacation.

Wonderful stay in Cape Breton!
The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for the time we were there. Any questions we had were promptly answered by Kim. Our 3 girls (ages 8, 6, 9 months) all had a blast exploring Cape Breton!

Great host, very responsive. The property is at a great location for visiting the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. It is just a short drive from the Cabot Trail Rd. Very quiet, with a great view, and very clean.

The property was exactly as presented on the vrbo site. Perfect jumping off spot for exploring Cape Breton. Wonderful property for dogs with free running space and enclosures. Well equipped kitchen. The pillows could use an upgrade.

Nice Location ...Secluded and Quiet !
The cottage was clean, and well equipped. It is located on a large beautiful and secluded piece of property with a nice view of the water. It was very scenic hour ride from the cottage to the Highlands National park where we did most of our exploring...the cable ferry was an added attraction.

Kim was very easy to communicate with and answered quickly. The rental was clean, comfortable and cozy. Everything you could need was provided. If you desire privacy this is the place to be. Close to the Cabot Trail.

Perfect for Cabot trail and area
The location was perfect for the activities we had planned being close to Cabot Trail and Fort Louisbourge. We were comfy in the cottage and were provided with all that we needed. Any questions we had were answered very quickly. One thing we wished was that there was a beach or water within walking distance but it was a short drive away. Lovely

A perfect home base to explore eastern Cape Breton
With its close location to the 105 this was a good place to start our exploration of eastern Cape Breton. The house is very well appointed with everything you need after a long day on the trails. We had an unusual couple days of warm weather so having A/C was a plus. Kim, the property owner, was a joy to work with.

The Cottage on Kelly's mountain.
Loved the quiet and the view of the lakes, the owners are very friendly and helpful. If you needed anything they were there to help. Easy to get to the cottage and to get around. Yes I would recommend this to everyone.

great location, very clean, well stocked
We spent four days on Kelly's Mountain in June. Enjoyed it very much. Beautiful location, lots of space for the dog to play, away from the road. Really neat pond and stream on the property. Even has a dog run if needed. This was a great location from which to explore the Cabot trail and all it has to offer, the beautiful inland lakes, etc. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Cape Breton trip
Property had everything we needed for our 4 day trip. When we walked into the entrance we where hit with an awful smell! Thankfully the entrance was separated by another door into the house. We think it was mold or musty coming from the basement. Good size kitchen and living room. Beds where not the greatest. The location for us was good for our adventures.

Peace and Tranquility
We were very pleased with this cottage rental. It was as advertised on Homeaway, and had everything we needed. It was very clean and well stocked. The location was amazing and allowed us to visit relatives in Glace Bay and to tour part of the Cabot Trail. We loved walking around the property and enjoyed watching the eagles sitting in the trees and soaring overhead. Being able to have a campfire our first night there was amazing as well, as we love the outdoors. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for everything Kim.

A real gem
This cottage is beautiful and extremely well equipped. We really enjoyed our time. It was lovely to sit on the deck and enjoy the peace. After dark, you may be lucky enough to see the dancing fireflies! The benches and the pond are lovely. Kim is a wonderful host. She is always available and responds so fast. Loved all of her beautiful wildlife photos on the walls. We hope to return some day. Thank you very much, Kim.

Comforts like home
The cottage couldn't have provided more for our comfort, scenic views and kitchen set-up. After a long day touring the area, this cottage was a nice treat to come home to, it provided all of the comforts necessary along with great views (too bad we didn't see any animals). Kitchen had all we needed to cook our meals with ease which was a welcome change as rentals sometimes have very sub-par cooking utensils but not here. Bathroom shower was a tad small but no big deal. Bed was a bit too soft for my taste but still provided comfort with lots of extra pillows, also had lots of warm blankets and throws but didn't really need during our trip. A washer & dryer helped lighten our packing load which was also an added bonus. Kim came & met us during our stay which was also a nice touch. Thanks so much, really enjoyed our stay. Oh one more thing, cottage may seem or appear to be in a remote area but it was really closer to town and to the Cabot Trail, its location just made it really private. Nice set up. The Buengers

On a scale of 1 to 5, I would give it a 10 !
After I booked the cottage, Kim sent an email confirming the reservation and provided detailed driving directions, her cell phone number and information for an alternate contact person. We planned to arrive early but ran into delays. I contacted Kim to let her know we wouldn’t get there until later in the evening. We arrived at the cottage well after dark and were greeted by soft lights glowing inside the house and a bright deck light at the entry door. Kim’s thoughtful gesture was welcoming and made us feel more secure in unfamiliar surroundings. Inside we found a warm and inviting home. The interior is meticulously clean. The rooms are charming, attractively decorated to compliment the breathtaking scene of the lake and woodlands viewed just outside the french doors that lead to a fully furnished deck. The kitchen is well appointed with every dish, utensil and appliance we would ever need. An ample supply of linens, paper products, laundry supplies and basic toiletries are also provided. I was extremely impressed with Kim's attention to the smallest detail. The cottage is conveniently situated just off 105 at the base of Kelly’s Mountain. (Contrary to another review here, we never heard noise from the main road as the property is tucked in a beautifully wooded area providing a buffer to any highway sounds.) It is centrally located to area attractions, providing easy access for day trips on the Cabot Trail and exploring heritage sites in Sydney. Ingonish beach and the entrance to the Highland National Park is only about an hour away. There is also a beautiful hiking trail along the waterfront next to the cottage. Kim is a wonderful host and we look forward to booking another stay at the cottage later this year.
