Gruene River Haven - On The Guadalupe River

The Gruene River Haven sleeps 22 and is a fantastic location to experience all that the New Braunfels and Gruene area have to offer. Situated directly on the Guadalupe River with 150 feet of river frontage it is the perfect location for family reunions, corporate events, small intimate weddings or any group gathering. Along the riverfront there are huge ancient cypress trees towering over a private floating river dock perfect for toobing, kayaking, or fishing. The grounds consist of covered and shaded patios surrounded by large pecan and oak trees, a large fire pit area and a lush green lawn leading down to the river. On the patio there is a 55" large screen outdoor smart TV, bluetooth enabled sound bar, propane fired BBQ grill, charcoal/wood smoker, propane fired fire table, hot weather outdoor fan and a cold weather propane fired patio heater. Also, there is a 12 foot long outdoor cedar plank "Star Bar" perfect for summer time toober people watching. Toobs and kayaks are available for guest use. There is a Saluspa Hot Tub on an outdoor deck available with a $20 preparation fee. The house is a cozy setting with virtually every room in the house having an amazing view of the Guadalupe River. 9 bedrooms give everyone the privacy they need while still sleeping 22 comfortably. There are smart TVs in every bedroom, living room and patio with cable. There is a dining room and breakfast dining area perfect for large holiday meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils and cooking essentials. There is a high chair and pack n play available.

Pets are generally not allowed but exceptions can be made for one maybe two pets under 50 lbs. You must request owner permission, sign a pet waiver and pay $50/day per pet fee/deposit before arrival.

There is a vacation rental RV on a secluded part of the property at the top of a hill away from the main house which we rent separately and may have guests staying in it during your stay.

The RV mentioned above can be made available to rent in addition to the main house for larger groups. With the RV rented in addition to the main house there is sleeping space for 26 and room to park 15 vehicles. Please contact us for details.

It is possible that during daylight hours only we will need to launch toobers and kayakers from the river dock during your stay. These will be guests staying at our other properties.

Great Stay at Riverfront House
We had a very big group and there was so much for everyone to do and plenty of room for us all to sleep. Perfectly located...right on the river and super close to Gruene Hall. The fire pit, the canoes, the grills and so much great yard seating. We loved it and can't wait to go again.

Fantastic House Perfect For Family Gathering

Annual family vacation
Our family enjoyed our stay at Gruene River Haven. We had 14, various ages and interests. They enjoyed the dock, the river and the hot tub. Lots of rooms, sort of quirky vintage but everything was really nice. Beautiful yard with deer visitors.

Beautiful views, inside a little dated
We were two families with grandma and really enjoyed our stay. The views of the river are spectacular, plenty of rooms and bathrooms for everyone and great river access and equipment that we made the most of. The house is dated inside in terms of appliances and we had an AC leaking problem one night that the owners came over and took care of. Kitchen is very small for the size of the house/people but we enjoyed the nice grill outside. The one thing that would have been good to know that wasn’t in the listing is there is an RV on the property that also has the river access for renters through the same back yard river access. We thought it was private and only were told about this at checkin.

Great Trip!
The owners were very helpful and welcoming people. We had a fun, easy trip. It’s great to have the kayaks and tubes on property. We spent most of our time swimming off the dock and fishing from the kayaks right by the property. We will definitely rent this house again :-)

Great place!
We rented this house for my 50th birthday celebration and it was perfect. Lots of room for everyone and you can’t beat the location. The river is deep in front on the house/dock and there were plenty of floats and kayaks for us to use. Some sweet deer came to visit and we saw a large variety of birds. The green spaces are well manicured and there is plenty of room and seating outside as well as in. We would definitely stay here again.

Spring Break Family Trip 2015
We've stayed here a few times now. We love this place. There are around 20 of us in our group and there is so much space. It's so close to Gruene Hall, river rentals, restaurants and it's right on the river!!! We really love the fire pit and kayaks. The owner is very helpful! We'll be back for sure.

A Slice of Heaven
This property was inviting, peaceful, easy to visit with each other, shady cooling extra hot days, and acommadated a large family well. The water was mostly private and like a lake. Our family usually stay at the beach, but now they chose this place over the beach. I can not say enough good about the owners. They were wonderful!

Beautiful property!
I held a company business retreat for two days at this beautiful property. Plenty of beds for everyone to have their own bed. Nice separated areas and lots of room for collaboration with teams. The setting is gorgeous on the beautiful Guadalupe river. In the morning drinking coffee, beautiful birds, herons deer and incredible views highly recommend the property for a family outing, or like ours a company business owners were very friendly and very accommodating

Amazing property, conveniently located and excellent for large groups
Our group of 5 has had a super comfortable stay. The property has a historic charm, however, the true highlight of the property is the location and the nature/lot. We loved bonfires, spacious yard for playing games and kayaking up and down the river. Saw a lot of nature and wildlife. Maybe 3 minutes away to great dining, Grune hall and river floating drop off point. The owner was very responsive. Would stay here again, thank you!

River House
We have stayed at "The River House" in New Braunfels many times and found that it works well for a large family or a college mini-reunion. It is close to the unique town of Gruene and has many water activities for the young ones. A nice dock and three kayaks are provided. It is always clean and up to date and the owner is charming. After 19 years we still return regularly.

Great Stay!
This was a great house for our group of 9 adults. Your heart might skip a beat going down the steep driveway :-), but the weather was great so there were no issues. House has all the amenities (inside and outside) necessary for a good time. If you have less than perfect knees, be sure to stay in one of the 3 bedrooms on the main level--but the house is lovely. Lynnae and Jeff were very responsive to our texts and were the perfect hosts. We would definitely visit again!

Wonderful Family Christmas
Our extended family of 15 adults celebrated an early Christmas and were floored at the beautiful view and outdoor space at this property. Although the kitchen is very small, we took turns cooking and there was tons of space to eat, play games, watch TV, and just enjoy spending time together. The view of the river is amazing! Were visited by deer each morning and evening as we hung out on the patio and deck. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms that allowed us to spread out. Very short commute to downtown Gruene for shopping.

Nice Owners
Family stayed for wedding which was in Gruene. Look at pictures carefully! House is really not suited for elderly people due to steep stairs, uneven floors, and most bathrooms had shower/tub combo which is hard to get into. Good views from many rooms, well stocked kitchen, 2 refrigerators (but one in kitchen had many cracked shelves), and outdoor space was very nice!
