"We recently stayed at the North Lakes Hotel & Spa as a stopover on our journey from Scotland to England, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the family room was perfect for us. The children were thrilled to find named biscuits and their own welcome packs waiting on arrival – such a thoughtful touch! One of my personal highlights was the fresh milk machine just outside our room, which made bedtime bottles for the kids super easy. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and catered really well to our family’s needs. While the hotel was incredibly child-friendly overall, we did find the restaurant a bit tricky – it was lovely but hard to get a reservation, and it didn’t feel quite as geared towards families as the rest of the hotel. That said, we would absolutely return and highly recommend it for anyone travelling with children – it made our long journey so much more enjoyable and comfortable."

"From turning up the driveway to the moment we left we felt like special guests who were staying in an historic English castle. The key aspect of this stay was that you are staying in a castle steeped in English and Scottish history. It has been adapted in keep with historic guidance to make it a 4 star hotel and so there are interesting rooms, nooks and cranny’s which make it a unique and exciting place to spend some special time with family. All the staff are very tentative and eager to please. The rooms open to all guests are elegant and there was ample seating and the rooms were all lovely and warm. Our room, The Cadwallader Room, was majestic and beautiful. Access was via the original spiral staircase which may be a challenge to anyone with mobility issues. This would also be the case for a few of the other rooms so check in advance if you have concerns. Beautiful grounds with peacocks and lovely paths to stroll around. Ample parking. We had breakfast which was table service. Lovey full English and eggs Benedict. Other people had continental breakfast’s which also looked delicious. Great location to explore Hadrians Wall and other local historic sights. They give you a free Langley castle history tour each morning at 1015am which I would recommend as it’s nice and light hearted giving you a glimpse into the history the castle has witnessed up to the current day. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants to have a relaxed time where you are spolit. "

"Agriculture Inn is a gem! The owners are on site and give personalized attention with a smile! The room was so clean, the food and ale was so delicious, and the castle ruins are across the street. They have a nice beer garden that is well attended by locals and feels very relaxed and comfortable. Not crazy or noisy, just a nice local feel. The bathroom was very small but not an issue for us. I would definitely go back! The history of the building is also very interesting."

"Very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff, food good, large portions, quite expensive (would be very good but let down by pizza) Good base for touring Hadrian's Wall, would definitely stay again. Amenities marked down due to limited parking, okay at this time of year but come peak season must be a bit of a 'mare. "

"The hotel were very helpful when requesting a slightly earlier check in due to attending a family wedding and needing to get a 3 year old ready to be a flower girl before hand. The staff were excellent and very friendly. The room was very spacious and the large bath was amazing! Breakfast was very expensive, especially for pastry's, orange juice etc but hit the spot."
