"My meal on Sunday evening was the best I’ve ever had, and the service by Rula wonderful and friendly.. room was delightful and breakfast delicious hot and perfectly served. Excellent choice the only problem was when paying generally with Hotels.com I pay before I leave home and can use my Keycash points but as Mellor took funds on leaving the deputy manager didn’t know how to use my credit which would have covered my meal. "We stayed here as a couple but also as part of a larger family group, including my niece and nephew (12 and 8 respectively). Our room was the Illingworth room. It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. "Lovely hotel/lodgings. Beautiful bathroom! Nice and warm room. Cosy fire at the bar which was nice and cosy . Tastefully decorated. "Lovely people and delicious food. Bar was very friendly. Spacious room (#5) and big and comfortable bed. No internet in bedroom (think it was faulty as it showed a signal) but OK in bar. Water pressure in room #5 very poor but clean a pleasant bathroom. No mobile service but that is obviously not The Maypole’s fault!"
